Summary: It didn't even work when I received it. The condition was not well described by the seller. I spent a couple of hours figuring out how it worked and found the issue: the tube between the intake and the dust bucket was blocked..
Summary: I purchased this from QVC about a year ago, after my Bissell finally lost it's suction. The Dyson, in my humble opinion, is overrated and HEAVY. That's probably because I am used to a lightweight vacuum, and this one is midsized, weighing in at 14.77 pounds (still lighter than some).
Summary: I like how the Dyson handles but the hype regarding cleaning and how good it is??? Not cleaning like it should for the money I paid for it. The cheaper vacuums I bought previously worked way better in cleaning and pulling the nap of the carpet up.
Summary: I bought this machine less than two years ago and it is already falling apart. The hose has torn in several places and the latch that connects the ball and brush broke. The good news is that it is still under warranty. The bad news is that that does not include the hose.
The Dyson DC40 Makes Vacuuming Less Of A Chore & More Of A Party

Summary: This Dyson DC40 vacuum cleaner is amazing with the ball technology that makes rounding corners and getting under small ledges a snap. The fact that the system is bagless is not a new idea by any means however the ease of use for the bagless system as well as all of the other features on the vacuum...
Summary: I give it an A+ for suction power, and a C- on design. I'd be surprised if the design engineer of this product still has his/her job. Even for a guy like me that enjoys cleaning, this equipment is a huge frustration.
Summary: This vacuum has great suction, when it works. It does a great job picking up dust and things off of hard floors, whereas many vacuums will either not pick it up, or the bristle heads will kick small objects out the back without sucking them up.
Summary: Not as easy to use as they would have you believe. Also does not work well on occasional or lightweight rugs. I have a large art silk rug in my dining room an it just does not run over it - it just sucks it up so it is stuck in one spot.
Summary: Good vacuum overall. I find its suction in floor suction mode isn't that much greater to my old Hoover Windtunnel. It does a great job on my rugs, though I do have to tilt up the vacuum and set it down on things like cheerios. The maneuverability is awesome.
