Summary: I've been interested in the ball technology of the Dyson vacuum cleaner for several years now, but was reluctant to pay the higher price for one of them. A few weeks ago I was surfing the Web for Dyson and I came across a clearance sale for the DC40 at Walmart.com that was a really great deal. I've had the vacuum a little over a week now. So far, it appears to work as advertised. The ball makes vacuuming around furniture, etc. a breeze.
Summary: My first time using a Dyson was my sister's DC17 right after our vacuum broke. I thought we had a good vacuum cleaner until we used my sister's. Our carpet looked new after vacuming and I thought, what a great vacuum. We looked for one on sale and found this one, DC40 at Wallyworld on sale as a closeout. (It would appear new models come out frequently so finding a new DC17 on sale was not possible) It was received in a reasonable amount of time via FedEx.
Summary: This is one of the best Vacuum I have used so far and also the most expensive one as well. Suction power is amazing and cleans carpets like they are brand new (a little exaggeration). It has been less than a month since I started using it so I have not cleaned out the filters yet, I hope that is not cumbersome. The only problem I have with this is using it on the stairs. I wish it had better attachment to do that.
Summary: My dc 07 blew up so I upgraded to the dc 40 animal after doing research this is a great deal the vacuum it self is great a little smaller then my dc 07 but I am getting use to it, suction power is great, cord length is a little shorter I find my self changing plugs more often but it's not anything major all in all I love the dyson dc 40animal it was a change from my old one so it just takes Little getting use to but I will always be a dyson fan and it doesn't change with...
Summary: The DC40 is very light and easy to use and is appealing in design. The issue being that the suction power it brags about is still just not there. I vacuum over our rugs and lint, small pieces of paper and twigs from outside do not get picked up. It appeared a bit stronger on carpeting but still not as solid as one would think for a vacuum of $300-500 (Kirby, Electrolux category for price). I wouldn't rush right out and spend for another one at that price.
Summary: My first impression was that I could not believe how small and lightweight this vacuum is, it feels almost like a toy, and is so easy to push around. I bought this to replace a 10 year old eureka boss vacuum. We live in a small house with carpet in 3 bedrooms and the living room, there is tile in both bathrooms and kitchen. My family has two long haired humans, two short haired ones and one ragdoll/long haired cat and one short haired siamese.
Summary: I bought this vacuum at Costco, mainly because it was on sale and I thought I needed a new vacuum. I have it for a few weeks now and it has no problem! + Has an extendable wand and 3 included tools that reach to a maximum of 18 feet. + The 3 tools I got: a 2 in 1 tool: crevasse vacuum & brush vacuum, a stair cleaning tool, and a mini turbine used to remove pet hair.
Summary: Bought it at Costco, $100 off. As I was putting it together I was thinking it wasn't worth the money..all plastic pieces, very lightweight. Reminded me of the worthless, cheap electric brooms. I thought vacuums had to be heavy in order to do a good job. I was wrong. I have a Miele and Kenmore upright that I thought were doing a good job but I was wrong again. The amount of junk the Dyson sucked out of my carpets, floors, and furniture was eye-popping.
Summary: I purchased this after getting frustrated trying to find the right bag for the 5 year old hand-me-down vacuum I'd been using. The thing hadn't been working well anyways. I have used the Dyson DC25 (my mom's) and loved the handling of it, so I was looking at Dyson when I found this at a store with a $120 off coupon. I live in a small apartment with one very fluffy little shedder, and I was completely disgusted the first time I used this..
Summary: Overall, its a good vacuum. It certainly is easy to turn and to lift. It makes the job easier and consequently quicker. But, I would say that the self adjusting head is possibly a bit of an exaggeration. It doesn't have great contact with all types of floor all the time. The vacuum is excellent on carpet areas, its suction is so good I can hardly push it across my landing but on my hardwood floors (majority of the house) its not fantastic.
