Summary: I am a professional housekeeper. I waited to write this until I had used the vacuum awhile. This picks up pretty well on most rugs, but on some tightly woven rugs and mats it doesn't pick up fur and lint that isn't even attached to the carpet. I think that this is because the height is not adjustable, and it needs to be closer. It does not get near the edges--prepare to use a tool for that.
Summary: This product was not as described in advertisements. Dyson bragged about its suction power and picking up animal hair; average at best. It is also the loudest vacuum I've ever had. Do not buy this product for an elderly relative, because it is not simple to put together, nor use! For the price, you can do much better.
Summary: Compared to my DC14 this vacuum cleaner had much less suction, was harder to push and pull forward and back and tended to want to move from side to side instead, which is ridiculous. I have wall to wall carpet and a long haired cat and long haired humans to clean up after. I used it to vacuum my livingroom and hallway where most of the dirt and hair are and looked in the canister to find hardly anything. The canister is a lot smaller than my older Dyson as well.
Summary: Simple, light-weight, maneuverable; if it actually cleaned the floor it would be a great product. The cheap, junk vacuum that this replaced picked up twice as much. For the money, I'm sure that you can find a much better product. Dyson seems to be about style and hype, not function.
Summary: I have owned a Dyson for several years, but since we have 3 dogs, decided to upgrade to the Dyson animal ball. First disappointing thing is the cord length is about 11 feet shorter than my previous Dyson!! Were people getting tangled in it?? Why shorten the cord?? Mine keeps unplugging because the cord is so short. I was used to doing certain areas without having to unplug several times to move the cord.
Summary: For such an expensive vacuum cleaner it's inexcusable that it only picks up some types of pet fur but not all. We have three cats and a dog. For reasons I can't explain the cat fur from two of the cats gets wrapped around the roller and stays there until its clogged. I cant address durability. Its only been used once. It wont get a second chance. It's going back.
Summary: Out of the box the unit liked to tip over and had mediocre suction. We certaintly felt it wasn't worth the price and we are thankful it can be returned through Costco. We prefer the half-price alternatives, even if they don't come with a 5-year warranty.
Happy with the new box, Disappointment with using experiences

Summary: Pros: 1. Very light, so it is easy to maneuver. Also, it does not hurt my wrist, arm, and back. 2. Easy cleaning system. 3. Good suction power. 4. Works well on the rug-type carpet. Cons: 1. Price is way too high for the performance: It is a just about average performing vacuum. 2. The hose is almost useless: A. It is almost like fixed plastic rather than expandable hose that can reach out as it is advertised. B.
Summary: Part broke first time used and had to get in touch with Dyson for a replacement, power head gets clogged very easily and has to be cleaned out. Not impressed for the price that has to paid. Not suitable for any large areas as the collection bucket is to small.
Summary: What a let down, my old dyson was so much better than this model. It is awkward to manover, but the worst thing is it leaves track marks on the carpet so I am constantly having to go over it again and again. I gave my old one to my daughter but am considering to swap back . Very disappointed.
