Excerpt: I have had this Dyson DC28 Animal Vacuum for just over a year now and I cannot say enough good things about it. My only complaint is that the front is a little big and does not fit under furniture quite as nicely as I would like, but the overall performance and ease of use cannot be beat. One of my favorite features is the long twenty five foot cord.
Summary: This vacuum has been a complete and total nightmare. I have had it serviced twice, once by Dyson, and it is still acting up. It locks up on me constantly. I have to turn the machine off then turn it back on, it will go two or three swipes then locks up again. I am so over this over priced piece of garbage. The funny thing is when you call Dyson or the warranty repair center, tell them what is going on with the vacuum they say "it's a DC28 isn't it?
The Dyson Animal Vacuum is one ruff, dog-catching device!

Excerpt: I have had my Dyson Animal Vacuum for almost 5 years and I still LOVE it! My daughters (all 3 of them) have learned to vacuum with this cleaner (and you know that means they run over everything from rubber bands and Barbie shoes to curtains still attached to the walls!) and it still sucks as good as the day I brought it home!
Summary: The only thing I don't like about this vacuum is the recoil strength of the hose. I have to use the wand two-handed, otherwise it gives me tennis elbow. It requires some grip strength to fight against the hose, so this probably isn't great for people with arthritis or tendinitis. Otherwise, holy cow super-convenient wand, Batman.
Excerpt: If this vacuum would have cost less I might have rated it higher, but for the price it should do at least some of what it claims. I honestly have no idea how they can call this a specialty vacuum for people with pets and charge extra for the specialty. Other than being purple rather than yellowish orange, it seems exactly the same as the regular Dyson model.
Excerpt: I bought this vacuum when it went on sale during black Friday last year. If you have pets this vacuum is for you! If you don't have pets, it works great for allergies also. It picks up much more than any vacuum I'd ever owned. The attachments make it easy to clean pet hair off furniture, and the removable handle makes cleaning steps super easy, and it's great for cleaning cobwebs off the ceiling. Also, the attachments make it easy to clean under furniture.
Summary: I'll try to keep this as clear as possible but so there is perspective, let me tell you a little of my history. Over the past 6 to 8 years my family & I have purchased 6 Dyson's spread over 4 different models and with new Dyson we purchased it became more clear. All Dyson vacuums REQUIRE monthly routine maintenance. You have a choice relating to the methods of cleaning these vacuums.
Excerpt: I received this as a Valentine's day gift from my husband. I love that it cleans my carpets and bare floors so well. It is easy to use and very user friendly. When you get it out of the box, it does need some assembling, bu t it was easy. The fun part was vacuuming with my old vacuum prior to using my new dyson. It was disgusting how much dirt and junk it actually got up after I vacuumed. I was shocked.
Excerpt: The Dyson Animal vacuum is my favorite vacuum cleaner that I have ever had. It sucks up dog hair amazingly. I have three dogs that shed and stay in the house. After vacuuming you would never know there was dog hair on the floor before. The bag less container makes it super easy to empty. It's great for people of all ages to vacuum with. Overall I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. It's great for someone with or without pets.
