Summary: Good suction, but flimsy construction. We've had to have our repairs at a locally authorized repair center twice due to cheap plastic parts breaking through normal use. The next time this one requires repair, we plan to throw it out and purchase a different brand.
Summary: I love my old Dyson, but now they have cheapened everything about them, which is why I puposely looked for an older model. This model is lightweight which is nice, but the cord is too short to vacuum even a small room.

Summary: The vacuum itself has great suction, however for this particular model the roller brush does not last long. It needs constant cleaning. Even after cleaning the roller frequently, the end bearings heat up with dust accumulation. No easy way to clean the bearings.
Summary: If you have a 3 story house, this vacuum is for you ! Light weight and easy to haul up and down stairs. If you have a German Shepherd, or any other ridiculously hairy animal then go for a DC 17 animal. I regret selling my first Dyson for this model.
Adequate for a small space if price is not an issue; not a full featured machine for deep cleaning

Summary: This was my first Dyson, which I purchased shortly after moving into a new apartment. I was attracted to this Dyson due to its smaller size, maneuverability, and a promise of no-loss-of-suction (my apartment is about 800 SF).
