Summary: I was really excited to buy this vacuum 1 year ago. I had always wanted a Dyson vacuum and was so excited when it went on sale black Friday 2011. I owned this vacuum over a year, and while it does a good job sucking up dirt and manuevering around furniture/under cabinets overall I'm not super impressed. The cord is very short, I have a small townhouse and I find myself unplugging and switching outlets more than with any other vacuum I've owned.
Summary: Dyson is on the right track with the ball idea, this vacuum works well on all surfaces and does an okay an job overall. I would not say this was animal rated, due to the poor design in the hose length, cord length, container size and suction. I was pleased with the power brush attachment for the hose as it preformed as well as it could based on suction.
Summary: First, this is a very good vacuum, just not at this price. It looks fancy and is relatively quiet compared to other cheaper vacuums I've owned. It stays true to its word: it's never lost suction. The filters only need to be cleaned about once/month; compared to weekly for other past vacuums. I think it's because the dust chambers do a much better job of settling out dust than others. It's light and easy to maneuver with the ball.
