Summary: I've had a Dyson before so I was WAY disappointed with this. To spend $400 on a vacuum that won't suck up hardly anything is a rip off. The cord is so short, even if it had been working, I couldn't have vacuumed a whole room anyway. I feel so burned by this purchase, that despite my previous positive experience with another Dyson, I'm not willing to gamble hundreds of dollars. Dyson should be embarrassed by this low quality product.
Summary: This was the second time I had to buy the end cap for the brush. Both of them were stripped after only a few uses. The original one lasted for almost 5 years, then when it finally had to be replaced, the new end cap had fewer teeth and was stripped within a few months. The second one, this one, lasted even less time. For such an expensive vacuum the replacement parts sure are cheap.
Summary: I got this for a Christmas gift after being a ten year Dyson lover of the original yellow one. This vacuum has a very short cord, small container, and also very hard to handle (shoulder injury) . I would not recommend this to any person. I have a small house and have to unplug my vacuum three times to do all my carpet.
Summary: I have never purchased a vacuum cleaner that quit functioning in only 3 months time....... What a complete waste of money!!!!! To make matters worse Amazon will not allow me to return and/or replace it....... Very disappointed!!!
Summary: I owned a large Dyson upright for 10 years until the extension hose broke. I thought I would replace it with this smaller, lighter model. "Never loses suction." That's because it never had any. I should have returned it immediately, but waited too long and the return window expired. So I am stuck with a vacuum cleaner that doesn't clean. Now the button to control the brush no longer works, so it is useless on carpet. Save your money.
Summary: I paid roughly $370.00 for this product, being that I primarily have hard wood floors in my home, it didn't do too bad for about 2 months. As soon as the Walmart warranty was up, it was done. I've still used, it as it's the only one I have and 1.5 years later the entire Engine has gone out.
Summary: Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. What a piece of junk, been in the shop 3 times, and ALWAYS over $100 to fix. Bad power switches and now, a broken belt. Now I have found that ALL Dyson vacuums have to have the entire clutch replaced when the belt breaks, HUH???? are you kidding me ? instead of any more pricey repairs on this outrageously priced vacuum, im going to just go out and get a hoover or eureka and this heap of junk is going in the trash.......
Summary: I like the concept of the DC24, that being said, I would not reccommend it for purchase. When it works, it's great(very lightweight and efficient), but I find it to be very frustrating to use. Since there are no printed instructions, you must rely on the pictures for both assembly and maintenance.
Summary: Had this been the first vacuum from Dyson I had ever purchased I would never, EVER have recommended the Dyson brand to any of my family members. My dc07 broke the other day and I was extremely sad. That was by and far the best vacuum I had ever used in my life up until my new vacuum was delivered from UPS last night. I was super excited to open up the Dyson dc24 Animal vacuum. I have a Siberian Huskie/Border Collie mix dog and she sheds super bad.
Clogs easily & is hard to unclog, not worth the money!!!

Summary: Dyson DC24 Animal Compact Upright Vacuum Cleaner I have owned 9 vacuum cleaners from $100 to $2300 over the past 29 years to find the right one. My conclusion: it does not exist or I have not found it. The Dyson DC 24 Animal is not "It", either. Here is why: Loss of suction after using it for maybe 3 months, no amount of filter cleaning and washing or hose unclogging (which is not easy) - it is just not the same as when it came out of the box.
