Summary: I had a full size Dyson, which I also loved but it was pretty heavy and living in a tri-level I had difficulty carrying it up and down the stairs, especially with tendonitis in my elbows. The Dyson Compact is great for carrying up and down the stairs and it does a wonderful job on my carpets and hardwood floors. The only negative is I wish the cord was longer.
Summary: If you are looking for a portable vacuum to do small jobs this is a great vacuum. Comments about the dirt container being too small are right on. Other than that it is fine. I'm sure I'll get a lot of good years out of it.
Powerful Suction, But HUGE Tradeoffs for Small Size

Summary: Ten years ago, June 19, 2003, I wrote a review for the Dyson DC07 Cyclone Animal Upright Vacuum, the first one sold through Amazon. Considering that we got rid of our 25 pound Simplicity for the DC07 dynamo, I was astounded. As I said in the review, even after 4 cleanings, I had enough dog hair in the canister to knit us a new dog!
Excellent Small Vacuum and No Worries About it being Refurbished

Summary: First let me address this item being refurbished. It came in amazing condition and looked brand new. I haven’t had a single problem with it. I am no stranger to taking a chance on refurbished items and I was definitely not disappointed. If one is available, don’t hesitate because its refurbished, just get it. We have two bedrooms that get vacuumed regularly, along with a set of stairs and a few fairly small area rugs.
Summary: I understand the complaints people have about this, and to some extent, I agree. Yes, the cord is short. Yes, the hose is not very long. Yes, it's lightweight, but I would argue not flimsy. People who are used to vacuums that weigh 20 pounds or more will be surprised at how light this vacuum is, sure, but unless it falls apart on them, any claim of flimsiness I think is subjective. I had a Dyson Slim for 5 years and absolutely loved it.
Summary: Works great, although would suggest buying a bigger one if heavier cleaning needed, it works if your on a budget; better than other vacuums I have owned. I use it in a 1600 sq ft house with kids and dog. It is fairly light, does have minor problems from time to time but still works good.
