If there's one thing about Dyson vacuum cleaners that people complain about, it's the weight. Who wants to lug around an almost 30-pound vacuum cleaner anyway? Well, here comes DC 24, Dyson's answer to the whole weight issue. At a little under 12 pounds, the DC 24 is tiny vacuum cleaner that packs mighty suction power. The Dyson DC24 still has everything that is good about Dyson vacuum cleaners. The only difference is that DC24 won't break your back. The $400 DC24 still... Read more

Dyson DC-24 Vacuum Sucks Like No Other We've all seen Dyson ads on TV. You know, the ones that make it look like these cleverly designed cleaning machines are the greatest inventions devised by humanity since the wheel or fire. And yet I freaking hate mine. I own an older DC-15 - a vacuum that corners like a Ducati and sucks harder than an Uwe Boll flick. But it's also extremely heavy and plagued by a horridly conceived control setup that features buttons in odd, hard to... Read more

  3. Dyson DC24 Vacuum Review

    12 March 2009

A Dyson DC24 vacuum review states: “The Dyson DC24 vacuum cleaner is one of those gadgets you just can’t wait to play with, even though it’s used for menial work. It just looks really cool. But good looks aren’t everything. Luckily, it has the best suction of any machine I’ve ever owned. The spinner works great on carpets, and you can turn it off for hard floors. I also love how light this vacuum is, I think around 11 lbs. I can carry it around with no... Read more

We were not sure what to expect when we tested the new Dyson Ball™ DC24 and DC25 vacuum cleaners, and as a result we were pleasantly surprised. The dynamics of the Ball™ technology truly reduced the amount of effort need to control and maneuver the vacuums around the house. We were impressed by the suction power of these vacuums, and their ability to pick-up pet hair was one of the best we have seen. We would have liked the vacuums to have a suction adjustment or... The Dyson DC24 is a great choice for apartment dwellers and for those with limited storage space that still want the convenience and power of an upright vacuum cleaner. The Dyson ball is a great design for superior cleaning and the overall quality of the vacuum makes it a valuable appliance in the home. Priced between $400 and $500, it is a bit pricey for the suction amperage but it is a high quality well built vacuum that will last. Read more

Ever since the Dyson first leapt onto the scene (the house cleaning scene) a few years back, I was very intrigued with the concept of a vacuum that " never loses suction". I have had terrible luck with vacuum cleaners ever since my shirt got stuck in one when I was a child. I digress. The Dyson 'Ball" DC 24 is the miniaturized version of the DC 25. Even though all the parts are smaller, this new and amazing, magically powerful model is very nimble and effective. In fact,... Read more

We wanted a second vacuum for the 2nd floor of our house. We already have a Dyson DC14 and really love it, but wanted something smaller for upstairs. The size and storability of the vacuum is great, but the short power cord is really a pain. The cleaning power is comparable to our other Dyson and the ball makes for easy cornering. If you are using it for a small space, I would recommend it, but for whole house cleaning I prefer the DC14. Read more

  4. Good vacuum, flimsy construction

I bought this vacuum on sale about 8 months ago, since then it's gotten a lot of use.  I appreciate the small size and bagless vacuum style, but overall the vacuum feels pretty flimsy.  It's a chore to set up the hand brush.  The suction power is good, but cleaning out the vacuum can be tricky and more than once I've dumped the contents of the suction chamber all over my floor.  Overall even though I bought this on sale, I feel like I could have gotten a vacuum with... Now I enjoy vacuuming as much as my 2 year old son does. Plus it helps pick up all those cheerios and raisins that he drops. Well worth the price. I've gone through many inferior vacuums-- this is going to last me a long time. Read more
