year and a half later

ima cellgod, Amazon
13 June 2014
  • Summary: year and a half later it works but it is getting loud. I use it once a week for sure and sometimes twice a week. I always keep it clean . i guess for 16 dollars it lasted ( still working but loud) long enough.

vacuum roller brush for Dyson

Lisa, Amazon
22 February 2011
  • Summary: The product arrived in a reasonable amount of time, approximately a week and a half. I was in no particular hurry, so this wasn't a problem. The product arrived with one corner chipped out, making it difficult to install. I swapped ends with my old brush to get an undamaged part to be able to install. Everything else went like clockwork. I didn't send the damaged part back because I just didn't want to deal with the hassle. Time is an important commodity for everyone.

Consumer

Larry Fox, Amazon
11 April 2010
  • Summary: Yes, the Dyson will suck up dirt beautifully. But, you need your head examined to buy it: 1. It is positively nasty to clean. 2. It breaks frequently and is a pain to send for repair. 3. The warranty people have to be called at least 3 times to get a response like where to go for repairs or where to send. My experiences with all other products via Amazon have beed great, but not this item.

Dyson animal

Overstock
20 May 2009
  • Summary: I purchased this vacuum 2 years ago. Absolutly the most awesome vacuum when I purchased it. Recommended to all my friends. I do use the product alot due to having 2 dogs and a cat but it is not the same any more. The plastic parts do not fit as tight as when new and the suction is not at all like it was when new!! I have replaced the filter (which was graciously covered under warranty) and keep the filter clean at all times as recommended.

7 May 2009
  • Summary: I bought my Dyson DC-17 Animal June 2008, initially i was thoroughly impressed the suction was great hand tools stowed neatly and did'nt fall off it was Awesome. Well almost a year later I am utilizing the Extended warranty I purchased with my Vacuum. The Suction after one year on this vacuum is no better than any other vacuum I've had in the same period of time.

I would get the DC25 instead

Allergens123 "Jim", Amazon
25 February 2009
  • Summary: My wife and I decided to invest in a Dyson after 4 years with a Dirt Devil that wasn't quite doing the job with our cats. So we went and looked at them, and decided to get the DC17 Animal for a couple reasons: 1) because of the extra attachments, and 2) because it had the level 3 root cyclone setup, which is supposed to be better at filtering finer dust. The other candidate was the DC25 "ball." We got it home and cleaned, and it seems like all Dyson says it is.
