DYSON SUCKS....BUT NOT THE WAY YOU WANT IT TO!!!!!

flygirl66, Amazon

  • Summary: I have asthma and am not supposed to have my three dogs...but I love them...and controlling their hair is a must...so I broke down and bought this vacuum thinking it would be the answer to my dog hair/vacuuming/respiratory problems - WRONG!!! From the repeated emptying of the canister - that has to be taken apart in multiple pieces to clean it properly because it clogs at the top with dirt & dog hair after one room is done - to choking on the cloud of dust that this...

  • Summary: I fell for the Dyson sales pitch and saved up to buy this one. I have had this model vacuum for a year and a half now. For about the first 7 months I loved it. Now every time I have to use it I cringe. I have 4 pets and quite a bit of fur. The wand is impossible to remove unless I unscrew the bottom curve part and pull the hose out from the bottom to release it from being stuck. It's like it's vacuum packed (pun intended)!

  • Summary: I owned a Dyson and lasted for less than 2 years when I finally took it to the dump. The thing is I have 3 dogs and 5 cats. The hair is aweful. The dyson hose would clog up and almost impossible to clean out. Also, the belt broke quite a bit and to get a belt you have to call the company the get a replacement. You can't find the belts in the store. It would take up to a week and a half to get the belt. That is totally unacceptable.

floor brush quit within minutes

R. Knopf, Amazon
16 October 2009
  • Summary: I received my remanufactured unit promptly. I was amazed at the dust it was picking up but within minutes the floor brush quit working. I was sent to the nearest repair outlet (60 miles) They "unstuck" the reset button. It worked great for about 10 minutes but then the brush quit again. I've lost faith & I'm returning the vacuum.

OH Nooo! A lemon of a Dyson.

Kevin J. Hurley, Amazon

  • Summary: Well I just recieved my refurbished Dyson. I was apprenhsive in buying a refurb but after other reviews thought it would be safe. I was very wrong. Multiple problems, missing pieces and broken buttons. I didn't find Dyson Customer Service helpful at all. The guy I spoke to could care less about my problems. I need to travel to a service center to have it repaired but not quaranteed that it will be fixed properly and all parts will be available at no charge.

WOW

Jonathan Steinmann, Amazon

  • Summary: In theory, the Dyson vacuums seem like the best investment for cleaning your home for allergy sufferers. The reality is, these vacuums, along with most of the bagless vacuums are TERRIBLE for allergy sufferers. Sure, it doesn't lose suction as easily as advertised... but you have to empty out the container very often. I mean, every room your vacuum.

To Tell the Truth

Maxx, Amazon
15 February 2008
  • Summary: I just bought a Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright to replace my aging Hoover. How could this cleaner have sucked up all that stuff right after I vacuumed with my old cleaner? I was alarmed to discover that a large amount of the "stuff" that was sucked into the Dyson dust canister was fibers from my carpet, rather than hair from my pets. I have several different carpets and rugs with different piles in my house.
