    The Dyson DC17 Absolute Animal is a bagless upright vacuum designed for homes with pets. It has a mini turbine head attachment that we really appreciate. This attachment cleans pet hair and other debris from upholstery, stairs, car interiors and Fluffy's favorite spots to lounge on the carpet. The turbine attachment works even better than we expected. It agitates, brushes and lifts long and short pet hair like a pro. Read more

    Well - what does "quiet design flaw" mean to you. See the link at the bottom of this post. To me, the Dyson DC17 is plagued with several design flaws. I hate that it has torn bed linens and furniture because the sides are pointed and curve around the head so after you push the vacuum forward, when you pull it back towards you when vacuuming - catches everything from drapes, to sheets, comforters, and furniture.     We have two long haired dogs and the Dyson brush gets totally wrapped up, the hair gets up into other parts and causes the machine to malfunction. One time when I called a service person asked if we had pets. When I answered yes, that's why we bought the Dyson "Animal" she said - oh that's not what that means - it's not for pet hair! Thanks for nothing. This machine is too expensive and does not function as advertised. Read more

    I love this vacuum. It makes cleaning my house FUN. The wand is SO cool and easy to pull out and put back in. The only negative is the directions included aren't very detailed and I have been a little unsure about cleaning out part of the cylinder. But I love that you can take it out with one hand, and dump out the cylinder without touching anything gross or dirty. Awesome. A GREAT Vacuum!! Read more

Features

The Dyson D17 features Mini turbine head which cleans pet air and dirt from tight places such as upholstery, stairs and the car. It offers advanced Dyson Cyclone technology which powers the vacuum cleaner. The Quick-draw telescope reach wand has the function of extending for stairs and high-reach places. This vacuum cleaner features hygienic bin emptying function which reduces risk of contact with dirt. It also offers lifetime HEPA which traps microscopic allergens such as pollen. The Dyson D17 features low reach floor tool which cleans hard to reach places such as under low beds and sofas. This function has a mode change button to be used on carpets on hard floors cleaning. The fingertip brush control features the brushbar turning off at the touch of a button which protects delicate rugs and bare floors. The vacuum cleaner has an extra motor in the cleaner head which powers the bristles to remove dirt and pet hair from carpets. The asthma and allergy friendly certification is done according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. It is said that this vacuum cleaner has the best average pick-up across all type of floor surfaces. This vacuum cleaner offers carpet care kit which includes Zorb powder and Dysolv. The Zorb powder absorbs dirt from the carpets and freshens the room. The Dysolv spray removes spills and marks such as grease, food and soil. The auto-adjusting height feature offers to adjust itself toward cleaning of floors to carpet without involving manual adjustments.
