why does my vacuum sound like an airplane engine now? we have only had it for a year

It may very well be the beater brush. Turn your vacuum upside down, remove the guard on the bottom and take out the beater brush. There are three or four tabs to release the guard Does your vacuum still make the noise? If not, it's the brush. Mine wears out about every 3 months!! This vacuum is great other than that. It's very frustrating to have to replace the brush so often. I've contacted Bissell each time it has failed - they sent ONE replacement and now ignore me. I am on my SIXTH replacement. Should have bought a new
