Summary: As an independent housecleaner, I have been looking for a vacuum just for the sole purpose of cleaning non-carpeted flooring. I use an Oreck for the carpets. While no product is perfect, I did weigh the pros and cons of the reviews and decided to purchase it. I knew that the hose way too short, which I do hope Bissell will pay attention to customer feedback and improve. I have a sturdy, long hose from another vacuum which fits perfect at the end of the curvy black wand.
Summary: I was looking for a vacuum that's similar to the AEG Vampyr and I have found it! Having used a Kirby Sentra for the last few years, I am so happy with my new Bissell! Although the Kirby was free, I never liked it (too loud, too heavy, you can't vacuum tile/wood floors with it). The Bissell is very quite. Neither my son nor our cat runs from it when I turn it on.
Summary: If you liked the cheaper version (about $50) of this type of vacuum cleaner you will not be disappointed with this one. I myself owned the cheaper cleaner before, it always did its job very well. They are not the best performing cleaner for carpet unless its not any thick carpet, we have only hardwood floor and just a few thin carpets and like fabric couches and for that those cleaner perform just great. This more pricy cleaner is worth its money.
