I would not purchase this vacuum again.

Amazon Customer "KingDingbat", Amazon
24 April 2012
  • Summary: I've had this vacuum for 2 years, and I would not purchase it again. It gets the job done, but there are several areas which are a disappointment, and I would not recommend it. The first, was shortly after I got the vacuum, the rubber coating on the handle started peeling off. Not a big deal, but it's annoying. The joints, where all the accessories join together with the hose are plastic and split easily.

Poor piece of engineering and design

  • Summary: The machince has good vacuum strength and is lightweight as advertised but that is about all the good I can say about it. Nobody won any prizes for this this design and if they did they should give them back. Not having the tools on board is one mildly frustrating feature of the design. The machine does not handle changes in surface well requiring a good deal of push n pull when you go from floor to carpet.

Super vacuum for the price

docgobbler, Amazon
19 July 2011
  • Summary: Our old Hoover broke so, after much internet searching, we decided on this Bissell. We're pleasantly surprised at how much better it does in picking up dirt from the carpet. Much stronger suction and it doesn't seem as loud. The stair attachment is great, as is the auto leveling and the ability to shut off the brushes when we're on our hardwood floors. We have no problem with the attachments being in the bag as we don't use them that often and it's no problem to grab the...

Great Vacuum!

Liz, Amazon
11 July 2011
  • Summary: The Bissell Prolite is exactly what I wanted in a vacuum for my small condo. It is light weight but has really powerful suction. I use it on my hard floors and carpet and it performs equally well on both. Plenty of great attachments for cleaning any area of your home. I don't mind the attachments in a separate bag, just keep them in the closet and grab whatever one you need. Awesome vacuum for the price.

  • Summary: This is a great vaccumm its so light weight and easily manuverable. It picks up great! We live in a small space so I would not recommend it for big house's or lots of rooms. I do not mind the attachments in the bag. The hose however gets a little getting used to. It emptys really easily. And pick up on the hardwood is very nice.

Bissel PROlite, light on quality

29 May 2011
  • Summary: We purchased this vacuum 10 months ago and we initially loved it. The brush height auto adjust works well, the ability to turn the brushes on and off is a great feature, it is very light and provides excellent suction and it comes well equipped with a variety of attachments including our favorite, the Turbobrush head.

Goes Under things like no other, Handy brush attachment, great for pet hair on furniture

Paul G, former vacuum cleaner repairman, Amazon
10 March 2011
  • Summary: I have repaired thousands of vacuum cleaners since the late 1970's. Today all for the most part are disposable, I no longer work in the vacuum repair business because there is no business. Despite my career change gripes I decided to find a better than Dyson DC7 upright that doesn't cost 5X more than it's worth - all those TV commercials are what you pay for, the cyclonic vacuum design is from the 1960's - Filter Queen in Chicago, their patent must have run out, so Dyson...

AWFUL PRODUCT

thankful, Amazon
26 February 2011
  • Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. THE UPPER HANDLE AND THE LOWER HANDLE DO NOT FIT TOGETHER CORRECTLY, MEANING EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN TURN IT ON, WHEN YOU ARE VACUUMING, IT DISLODGES AND YOU CAN'T TURN IT BACK OFF. YOU HAVE TO RE-ADJUST THE PARTS AND THEN YOU CAN TURN IT OFF, THAT, OR YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG IT. ALSO THE ACCESSORIES DON'T FIT TOGETHER WELL AND ARE DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH.

Hunk of Junk!!!!

carrie, Amazon
24 January 2011
  • Summary: Don't waste your money! I have bought $40 vacuums that are better! Everything gets clogged in the hose and never makes it to the container! Worked fine the first 3 or 4 times, Now have to tear the thing apart after every time I vacuum. BIG Disappointment. Might work fine for people who never need to vacuum.
