Slow to Load

Excerpt: Plug it into a USB3 port and wait at least 10+ seconds for this drive to be recognized. Its the same for both my MAC and laptop. This is so much slower than any other flash drive (even USB 2) that I own. Most other drives are recognized within 2-3 seconds.
Immediate failure; I pay to send it to Manufacturer; in 2 weeks I get a replacement

Summary: Bought 8 GB model to make Yosemite back up drive. It crashed immediately. Couldn't reformat for Apple OS. It ejected itself over and over. Called Verbatim (No 800 phone number; perhaps a hint of poor customer service.) Rep went through several attempts to reformat, to no avail.
Excerpt: I bought two of these drives in the hope that they would make Windows installations faster. I intended to create one each for Windows 7 & 8. But I tested their performance against another brand USB 2.0 drive and it was on average 55% faster. First I tested using a single 6.3 GB file.
BAD: Verbatim's "EasyLock" Security LOSES Original Date Stamps

Summary: Verbatim's old "V-Safe" security program worked very well with its "Private Zone" from a user's view and seemed very secure. The new "EasyLock" encrypts which is great, locks all out after 10 attempts but loses all date and time stamps on every saved file = A HUGE PROBLEM.
Pros: When it works, it is quite nifty. Lots of space, decent transfer speeds.
Cons: It seems to have developed an identity crisis lately. Sometimes it seems to believe it is not a flash drive. Will often stop functioning and become unrecognizable to PC during file transfers. Have tried with 3 PCs and 1 laptop, same results.
Summary: First time using Verbatim. After several months of usage, it decided to deny access to certain folders and I cannot restore the damaged data (well, some yes, but others no). Perhaps due to the heat it generates (the connection port gets hot/warm after a while.

Seq.
