Good For Back-Up Storage

Anonymous, Newegg
30 August 2015
  • Summary: I still have this product, even seven years after purchase, and it's still functional. A decent product even though newer & higher-end products have since been released into the market.
  • Pros: A good option for a portable storage-unit in a compact-size.
  • Cons: Slower data-transfer-rate than other models of thumb-drives and the cap has no way to remain attached to the USB-drive whilst it's in use (thus it has a risk of getting lost if you're not well-organised).

Still going after 6+ years

Anonymous, Newegg
22 September 2014
  • Summary: Should have bought 2-3, but you never know if what you are buying is a keeper until way after you bought it.
  • Pros: Still works after more than 6 years of use. Probably somewhat slower than new drives but I never benchmarked this one since it was just for file transfers in between computers.
  • Cons: None i can think of.

Good Flash Drive

Andrew G., Newegg
18 October 2009
  • Summary: As long as you use it normally it'll work well.
  • Pros: It's well made. It works well. My devices have all seen the drive and worked with it fairly well.
  • Cons: I've had some minor hiccups like having to replug in the drive a couple times. Sometimes asking it to do too many things at once makes it slow down and act funny.

  • Pros: Works great for PCs Cheap
  • Cons: Zero support for OSX, not rocket science, but who makes a flash drive that is not Mac compatible nowadays? Well Transcend obviously.

Don' Plan on Encrypting

Converse B., Newegg
19 March 2009
  • Summary: No lanyard included.
  • Pros: Cheap. Reliable storage thus far.
  • Cons: Encrytion software is not robust. I could only get the Flash drives to encrypt a couple small files. I was planning on using it to store/transport 6GB of encrypted data, but the software freezes without fail when encryting that much data. Do not buy this for its encrytion abilities.

no nonsense, ok just a little

Bruce H., Newegg
1 November 2008
  • Summary: Biggest complaint is the advertised software refuses to run at work or home. I prefer a lanyard to carry them and not lose as easy. It has a hole where you can thread one through though. I hate lose pieces so the cap that doesn't attach while its being used can be lost.
  • Pros: price vs capacity, size
  • Cons: the software is an advertised feature and doesn't run. no lanyard, loose cap when used

Transcend software problem

Anonymous, Newegg
6 October 2008
  • Summary: Buy the Transcend V35 as a flash drive, but don't expect anything more than that.
  • Pros: It's a simple, compact, functional flash drive.
  • Cons: Foolishly I imagined that the AES encryption was in hardware. It isn't. You have to go to the Transcend web site and download a suite of utilities that supposedly can be saved onto the flash drive and run from there, although they wouldn't run for me. First I tried to download the documentation f...

Nice LITTLE drive!

Mark B., Newegg
18 September 2008
  • Summary: For an 8GB drive, you can't go wrong with this one. I bought one for work to backup user files and settings and liked it so much I bought 2 for myself. Replacements for some old PNY 1GB's that have seen better days (and paid more for originally).
  • Pros: Fast speed with a very compact size and a shell that'll stay on! No problem with the top clicking on securely either. Can easily plug this in with other USB devices right next to it. Speed seems very sufficient for my use. I don't mess with lanyards so it's not an issue for me.
  • Cons: I don't care for purple.. but oh well. Didn't buy it for the color but for the size, capacity and great Newegg price.
