Summary: I have many flash drives with the same slide in and out design, and all but this one work perfectly. You have to hold the piece out and hope that while you insert it, it doesn't slide back in. If it weren't 8GB I would throw it away. (it would be wasteful)
Summary: Probably wouldn't buy another transcend unless it is faster.
Pros: Decent when it worked. I like the sliding mechanism
Cons: Pretty slow especially when copying multiple files. I have requested and RMA on this product as it has died on me after less than a year. System detects the drive but says it is unformatted. Won't reformat no matter I do. Lost all my data
Summary: I like the look, and the drive performs well, but the quality of the case is such a disappointment that I'm considering cracking it open and putting the chip in a different case.
Pros: It's fast, and it comes with a lanyard
Cons: The build quality of the case is very poor. The card does not remain retracted; it slides out about halfway. Kinda feels like having my fly open. The slider that carries the PCBboard fits very loosely in the case and rattles.
Summary: I am upgrading from a Sandisk 8GB and was trying to transfer the data from it to this one but I was only able to get about 3GB on it before getting an error message about the drive being write protected but the drive has no write protect switch.
Pros: 16GB capacity, Speeds are not bad.
Cons: Does not work straight out of the box, quality is severely lacking
Summary: I don't feel comfortable using this memory stick since the connection does tend to be flaky and I want something more sturdy and reliable.
Pros: This memory stick is very speedy for transferring data and is a wonderful addition to my backup mediums.
Cons: Poor connection to the computer. If it is bumped a little, it disconnects from the computer and then re-connects a second later. It's kinda scary if this happens in the middle of the transfer as it can corrupt everything. BE CAREFUL with this one! It also feels a little flimsy, like it could fall...
Summary: Considering its main use was as a persistent Fedora Live boot, I suppose its within the realm of possibility that particular sections reached their write limits, but I find this hard to believe.
Pros: Compact design--the retractable design is something I will expect in a solid state drive from now on. I was literally blown away by the cost for 8 GB.
Cons: No issue for several months--now the device has stopped functioning entirely. I will not be shopping bottom of the price spectrum for a flash drive again!
Summary: This USB flash drive may be cheap, but it is also very slow, especially for one so big. If you need to carry an incredible amount of data with you that you hardly ever access and almost never change, then this might be for you.
Summary: exceedingly light, and cheap feeling. since I bought it for transferring large individual files to systems with out network connectivity, it's useless for me. am still waiting for reply from transcend support
Cons: while I can use the whole area of this drive, it will not accept individual files 4.0gb in size or larger (no dvd content transfering). Also, the slide to lock the port out, does not also lock it in, it will slide out at the most inopportune time.
