Good Basic 3.0 Drives

Michael K., Newegg
28 November 2013
  • Pros: They are 3.0 compatible. The do seem to be a bit faster, but I haven't seen amazing jumps over my fast 2.0 drives.
  • Cons: Nothing really. For the Price they are nice 3.0 drives, just not the fastest.

Not bad

Eric S., Newegg
17 July 2013
  • Pros: High capacity, fast speeds. I get write speeds of approximately 25 MB/sec on my Thinkpad with USB 3.0 ports. My old USB 2.0 drive got 5-6 MB/sec.
  • Cons: The cap that goes over the business end of the drive doesn't snap onto the rear of the drive. I will give myself one month before I misplace the cap.

  • Pros: it gets 37MB/s read and 17MB/s write even with native usb3 (my desktop) but isnt much slower with usb2 ports (my old laptop 30MB/s read 18MB/s write)
  • Cons: "up to" 90MB/s means just that its not a promise

  • Pros: Cheap. It works. Fast Download. USB 3.0 speeds.
  • Cons: Writing to the device is pretty slow... just above the write speed of a 16GB USB 2.0 drive I have.

Bad Customer Service!

Andrew V., Newegg
31 August 2012
  • Pros: Cheap USB 3.0 flash drive
  • Cons: Lousey, non existant customer service. My machine did not recognize the drive even though the activity light on the drive blinked when I plugged it into either a 3.0 or 2.0 port. I called cistomer service and got an answering machine. When I left a message, no one called. I tried an Email to the address that I found on their web site. I got a question asking for answers that I had included in the original Email. After I answed them again, and sent off the Email, I nev...

not great

John N., Newegg
29 August 2012
  • Pros: Cheap as shell-shocker deal. (Almost) 16GB.
  • Cons: VERY slow--write speed under 7MB/sec, read around 22 MB/sec. Nowhere close to even USB 2.0 speeds or the (admittedly modest) speeds advertised on the product page. Smaller than advertised. Even using the disk manufacturers' 1GB=1000000000 bytes, it's only 15.5 GB. (And yes, formatted capacity is even less, especially using most computers' 1GB=2^30 bytes, but that's a sad fact of life.)

User Review

David G., Newegg
26 August 2012
  • Pros: Cost
  • Cons: Only 14.4G of usable memory; Slow - no where near the 80MBps advertised - only gets to 45MBps with CrystalDiskMark. Win7 thought there was disc errors on the drive when I first installed - then second and third times I had to reformat it. I don't know if I'm going to just return it or take a chance with a replacement.
