Classy Flash Drive

Miles, B&H Photo
21 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Bride and groom preferred to have their wedding images delivered electronically using a flash drive. I purchased this one for the classy look and capacity. Drive performed as expected and transferred a large slide show without hiccups.
  • Pros: Classy Looking, Easy To Use, High Capacity, Reliable, Unique

  • Summary: I purchased this thumb drive in Feb 2013 and it worked great for a while--a few month ago I tried to look at some documents I had saved and now the computer won't even recognize it. I don't know what happened or why but now I've lost many documents and pictures I had saved to this drive. I do not recommend buying this product--it's not worth loosing your documents!

Stop working after 2 months light use

Computer Guy "comp geek", Amazon

  • Summary: Simple - look great but does not work. It is not reliable drive - last 2 moths with only 4-5 read/write operation. Quite bad in quality so I would not consider my second tumb drive to be from Silicon Power

Great buy!

  • Summary: It is nicely made but I wouldn't trust it on my actual key set because the chain is too flimsy. Still, it is lightweight and small so I can travel with it easily.

Unreliable!

Jonathan H Lundquist, Amazon
2 October 2013
  • Summary: I bought four of these to use on Linux with btrfs file systems. I wasted a chunk of change! They do not read back data as written. Typical results: Oct 2 05:27:47 ap kern.info kernel: [26061.550000] btrfs csum failed ino 257 off 195309568 csum 613424421 private 4294967295 They're also relatively slow: root@ap:~# hdparm -t /dev/sda /dev/sda: Timing buffered disk reads: 50 MB in 3.07 seconds = 16.31 MB/sec

Low Price, High Capacity, Medium Speed

Akbar A. Abidi, Amazon

  • Summary: With this thumbdrive, you get what you pay for, but not in a bad way. It is a very affordable way to keep 64GB of mobile storage in such a small footprint. The design of the drive is attractive and compact. A lot of reviews mention that the drive dies pretty quickly but I haven't had any trouble with it for the month+ I've had it. I use it almost daily on my tablet with a USB-OTG cable, and I store all my digital comics on it.

Actual Capacity 57.6 gb

  • Summary: It is nice, cute and good-looking with a somewhat delicate chain. The port can slide out smoothly. The write rate averages about 5-6mb/sec. I think it is best value for a 64gb drive. But the low actual capacity was a big bummer.

Love it.

  • Summary: This is the ultimate usb storage device. It has the ability to hold 32GB almost as if its a external hard drive. The device is tiny and water proof. It even comes on a nice little key chain. I keep mine on my key ring.

Unstable

Brooke Konkle, Amazon
8 May 2013
  • Summary: Cute, cheap and small with a lot of gb. But whenever I had it in my port it would wiggle if my computer moved, and an error screen would pop up: "Not ejected properly..." etc. I ended up breaking open the casing and using just the drive and throwing out the case (since that was causing the wiggle, the drive against the case).
