Summary: Okay, this is a bit of an off the wall review, but decided it is DEFINITELY worth posting!! I bought this flash drive to replace my old one that I lost. This SanDisk is a great size, fits nicely on a keychain with keys.
Summary: I purchased ten of these to have for the office. I liked the idea of the slider to retract the male end into the housing so it would not be damaged. However, when plugging it into the computer, I have to hold on to the slider to prevent the protruding male USB connection from retracting again.
Summary: I mainly use my drive for playing mp3's in my car stereo. I plugged the 4gb drive into the computer and it starts running all the U3 stuff. I close that down and open the drive. I delete all the u3 files. I copy mp3's to it and forget about it.
Summary: I should have read the reviews here first but I saw the price and bought the Sandisk Cruzer only because I have had good experiences with other Sandisk products. First I am on an Intel iMac and the first thing is a CD image loads on the desktop as well as the USB Flash drive.
Summary: I've been using this drive for about a month now. I carry it in my pocket every day, it's survived well so far. The case is a bit scuffed, but that's it. The retractable USB connector still slides smoothly and locks into place. I've used it with PCs, Macs, and Linux - no problems with any of these.
Summary: SanDisk has made some really good products and this is one of them. Now if we can just get the manufacturers to stop shoving their software down our throats. Come on guys, it's a USB drive. You plug it in and it works. We don't need your stinking software.
Pros: Great device. I have washed this thing twice and it still works. I love the retractable USB design, it is very convenient and there are no caps to loose. I have two of these on my keychain and they work great.
Cons: U3, U3, U3. I know it is easy to take off but it looses a star for making me take it off in the first place. Not the fastest drive on the market. But price versus performance seems quite good.
