Excerpt: You are forced to download their security "protection" in order to even be able to format it.Worthless junk does not work on Linux systems. Here is yet another product co-opted by Microsoft that should work on any machine.
Sorry, neither worked and SanDisk said to return because they were not functional.

Summary: I purchased 2 SanDisk Cruzer Edge 4GB USB 2.0 flash drives, black and received them today. Attached each of them (at different times) to a USB port, and the same thing occurred with each: It said it had installed successfully, but did not show up under Computer (my computer), and you just can not...
Summary: My cousin gave me some pictures and saved them on one of these SanDisk Cruzer Edge drives. Is it cheap quality with the plastic contact! It took me quite a few tries to successfully insert it into the USB port of my computer. The head kept getting pushed back into the SanDisk housing!
Summary: I have purchased many SanDisk USBs in the past and never had an issue. I am so upset I wasted my money on this horribly designed flash drive. And you couldn't tell in the package that the design was so crappy. I wish I had looked here first before wasting my money.
Summary: I bought one of these at Wal-Mart, backed up files until it was about half full. Fast forward two months and there's no data on it. I had accidentally backed up the data twice so it was okay. I brought it back to Wal-Mart thinking it was just defective.
Summary: I usually depend on Sandisk to deliver a reliable product at a decent price, sadly the "Sandisk Cruzer Edge" does not deliver. Less than 30 days and the outer shell had cracked and would no longer stay on my keyring.
Summary: I used it for only a few minutes before it froze and permanently made itself read-only! Now it's junk. I can't format it, I can't erase it. Supposedly it's a KNOWN DEFECT and they still sell it!
