Fine. Not bootable.

Andrew K., Newegg
3 October 2011
  • Summary: I bought this drive because I needed something larger than 2GB to install Windows 7 with. Turns out, this little guy isn't bootable. Just a heads up. Otherwise, I guess it's a decent USB stick.
  • Pros: 8gb, decently priced.
  • Cons: Not bootable (can't install an OS with it).

warranty

Ted T., Newegg
8 July 2011
  • Summary: The warranty. I guess Newegg has a new warranty provider, which you need to go and sign up for and give all the info they require like your phone number (required) and so on. Well I already gave this info and I rarely offer up my phone number without real reason, so I will be including this...
  • Pros: loved the flash drive, its been working well and the keychain size is a great plus
  • Cons: none with the part really just what I ordered low price good quality

flakey

Jason V., Newegg
4 January 2011
  • Pros: lots of storage space when it works
  • Cons: doesnt work on all USB ports, some ports work some don't. Seems to be a power issue, will work on my HP laptop but not my Dell and not in my WDTV live. Works on most desktops which further leads me to think power issue with USB ports.

Junk

James C., Newegg
14 December 2010
  • Summary: Love my patriot 32 Gb Xporter. NOW THATS RELIABLE!. 4 GIG files no problem.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: works fine on initial plugin. When I actually transfer large files it disconnects and get the error "drive is not available anymore". It does this on 3 machines. trying to get an RMA now since it started failing at 31 days of use.

Slow but sturdy

Andrew W., Newegg
8 April 2010
  • Summary: I bought this flash drive because it was on sale for a decent price (18$ with free shipping if I remember) and because my friend has the 2GB version and survived after being used as a dog toy for a day. I keep it on my keychain and store files on it for school.
  • Pros: Sturdy design Okay read speeds (~10MB/s real-world)
  • Cons: Slow write speeds (~3-5MB/s real-world)

Sloooooow

Roman I., Newegg
6 April 2010
  • Summary: give your money to someone other than PNY if you need a fast USB stick
  • Pros: Fairly cheap for an 8Gb flash drive... convenient design...comes with a cheesy movie of your choice =]
  • Cons: Ridiculously slow...i tried this thing on an x48 based system, i750 sli and the 945g and I have not seen write speeds higher than 3.5meg/s... in NTFS, it does better (~10 megs/s), but what's the use if nothing recognizes NTFS (XBOX, DivX players)?...

  • Cons: Write speeds a little slow. For less money you could get better.
