Summary: still going strong. this thing is fast. should have bought the 8gb version. I bought an os off this thing and it works great. the Duracell 16gb on the other hand is trash, like the smelly wet trash that's been sitting for awhile out back.
Summary: Like many others, I like to carry my jump drives on my keychain. However, this can often be extremely inconvenient, as on most models the flash drive itself is attached to the keychain and you have your keys dangling off the side of your computer. This Lexar Firefly is the PERFECT solution for that problem. Instead of the flash drive being attached to the keychain, the clear plastic cap attaches to the key ring and the flash drive snaps in.
Summary: I bought this flash drive in order to record music on it from CDs through our computer and play said music in on the car radio. I knew that there was a red light on the end of it that flashes while recording. What I did not know was that the same red light flashes when playing said recordings. This feature is most annoying while playing the music on the car radio.
Summary: I bought a 1GB FireFly a few years ago when they first came out and am still using it with no problems. Needing more room, I purchased the 8GB version, and so far it's performing just fine. I really like the design on these drives. They're attractive, easy to grip, have a small area with a white surface that you can write on to label them, and snap snugly into their accompanying caps.
Summary: Used this to transfer over data from one Xbox to another, worked great for that. Now use it to boot Ubuntu Linux. I can't comment on highly detailed speed throughput, but I have no complaints on that front, either. Good size also. Not the smallest I've seen, but it is quite small, and seems to be made very well. I expect this to last quite a while. THE CAP SNAPS ON TO THE OTHER SIDE WHILE IN USE! Hallelujah!
Summary: The lexar jumpdrive firefly 16GB is a great little drive. it feels solidly built and the included protective cover is easy enough to remove but won't fall off unexpectedly. The cover fits solidly on the back of the device when using it so that you wont lose it. There's enough friction to make it feel like it will last quite a long time.
Excerpt: Most people will already own one of these and if not then really you must go out and buy one. The memory stick utilises flash memory so there are no moving parts involved, (less things to go wrong) in fact I have never had a flash drive go wrong on me yet (touch wood). They work in several ways, firstly as a backup device, simply plug into a USB port, wait a few seconds and its installed, the whole point of USB flash drives is that they are plug and play.
A nice, cheap, stylish flash drive, but be prepared to wipe it of software!

Excerpt: This is a very cute and very small little flash drive. But as the other reviewers found, you don't get the full capacity because of the file-system tables and any other software that gets bundled onto the drive. I wiped this drive of the software and formatted as FAT32 (so my PS3 can read from it) and I got 7.48GB of space instead of 8GB. But when memory is so cheap these days can you really complain?
