A few uses. Now it's broken and won't mount.

Alan Darmody, Amazon
8 March 2012
  • Summary: I didn't use it more than a few times. It's never been out of a drawer for more than a few hours. Now it won't mount. It's useless now. I hate USB flash drives. I've never had one to last more than a few months.

Worst flash drive I've ever owned

Amazon Customer, Amazon
19 May 2010
  • Summary: I bought this last year. It lasted a week or two, I don't remember. It's unrecoverable and no computer recognized it, and I've never found any driver software for it. It's about to go into the trash. I bought a different Lexar yesterday, not remembering I had this piece of junk. I'll found out if it's a piece of garbage too, I hope not.

Not usable on MAC OSX

Robert J. Crowley, Amazon
23 January 2010
  • Summary: This device is not compatible with OSX. So if you use that OS, this USB drive is not what you want. It does say on the package that it is compatible, however, so now I have to return it.

no recall????

John, Amazon
28 May 2009
  • Summary: I have used Lexar exclusively for years for flash media from jump drives to microSD memory in the cell phone, so I have been very partial to Lexar until now. Several months ago I purchased two 4gb FireFly usb jump drives. Occasionally I have encountered that large files (200 gb) will not open once copied to the USB drives. I contacted Lexar tech support three times regarding this problem.

Worst Flash Drive EVER!

Cynthia, Amazon
31 August 2008
  • Summary: Hello. 1 star is too much for this product. This product, the Lexar LEJDF4GB JumpDrive FireFly - 4GB Capacity, worked for about 3 weeks before it failed completely with about $3,000 worth of data loaded on it. I had just enough time to load it with data before offloading. I paid $27.50 for this product and as you read on you'll see it cost me alot more. Of course, I contacted the LEXAR company about their product many times to get assistance with the problem.

Save your money

Susanna Hutcheson, Amazon
28 November 2007
  • Summary: I bought this for my critical financial files and some other absolutely necessary data. It lasted about six months if that. I formatted it and tried to get it back in shape. Nothing worked. I'm going to go back to Kingston DataTraveler Elite 4gb. I have a Kingston that has outlived every other flash drive I've had and it's still going strong. Just not enough storage. They cost more. But you get more.

So Sloooooooooow

Christopher A., Amazon
25 June 2007
  • Summary: I really can't begin to describe how slow the transfer rate of the Lexar firefly is. The transfer rate makes it nearly unusable for anything but a few small files. It can take literally HOURS to transfer 500 MB if it is a bunch of small files you are transferring. It is a little bit faster with fewer larger files. However, I recommend looking for something else. I am very disappointed with my purchase.

slow..slow...slow

perl, Amazon
11 August 2006
  • Summary: I bought this item, attracted by its small size. However, I soon discovered that this item is not speed rated and transfers files at turtle rate. It took 3 minutes just to transfer a 50 mb file. The same file transferred to another drive took just seconds. If you'd like to transfer anything big, which is why I am getting a 2 gb drive, it might well be taking hours. There are other lexar drives with a lot faster speed..
