Died after a year

Brad D., Newegg
30 December 2011
  • Summary: I really liked the size of this disk, but I don't think I would buy this model again. Not that fast, but reasonable for the size of the drive. I wouldn't trust this drive with any data you need to keep.
  • Pros: It's really small! I can leave it in my laptop when I carry it around and not worry about it.
  • Cons: After about a year, the drive died. After a year of use, mostly just being stuck in my laptop without many reads or writes, the disk no longer works. My computer recognizes that a Mass Storage Device has been inserted, but it thinks that there is no media in the device.

Stopped working after 2 months

Kenneth L., Newegg
2 March 2011
  • Summary: The device stopped responding after two months. I was able to format it to NTFS and FAT32 in Linux, but the format operation failed every time in Windows. All file transfer attempts would fail, in both operating systems.
  • Pros: Fast, tiny
  • Cons: Unreliable

  • Summary: I wouldn't put anything on this drive that you wanted to keep safe. Be sure to back up often. It worked fine for four months, and then stopped without warning.
  • Pros: Nice Size
  • Cons: Unreliable

50/50

  • Summary: I bought 2 of these flash drives for use in my vehicles in-dash receivers. I bought 2 receivers than had USB slots, so basically I could put my entire library of music in my car with me without having to change CD's every few minutes when I wanted to hear something different.
  • Pros: Very small, easy to keep plugged in a tight spot.
  • Cons: VERY slow transfer rates, took over 30 minutes to transfer less than 4GB worth of songs.
