Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 DT101G2/16GBZ Flash Drive - 16 GB

azdesertshopper, Overstock
20 October 2013
  • Summary: When I ordered this item it was listed as a two-pack. Only one was sent to me. It was resolved, but only after a small battle with customer service. The quality is good, but grrrrrrr!

16GB, but slower than a baby's crawl

Roy C., Newegg
15 October 2013
  • Pros: They are decently priced USB 2.0 drives... and stored what I need them too while I had them (bought 2)
  • Cons: They are pretty darn slow... but I didn't buy them for speed.

29 out of 32

  • Pros: It holds 32 gigs of digital stuff. Its fast, and easy to use. Reformat it to NTFS to upload large files to this thumb drive to make good use of the storage space.
  • Cons: IT ONLY HOLDS 29 GIGS. You cant tell me that 3 gigabytes of storage is meant for something else, why allocate that much disk space to something other than storage? Thats a bit too much. My Corsair 32gb holds 30gbs, why cant this one?

Nothing Special

Gabriel U., Newegg
16 December 2012
  • Summary: It works, but for a couple more dollars you can have a significantly faster drive (relative to USB 2.0 flash drives, anyway).
  • Pros: It's got a metal cover. That's about it for pros.
  • Cons: Compared to other 16GB USB Flash Drives, it is relatively slow. Compared with three other 16GB 2.0 drives that I own, ALL ENTRY LEVEL (Kingston's common excuse as to why their drive is slow compared to others).

False capacity statement

GrizzlyGus, Bestbuy
8 November 2012
  • Summary: The manufacture's claim is not true and they should not be allowed to publish false information about products.
  • Pros: nothing
  • Cons: I needed a device that had 15gb. of available storage and this only has 14.5 and 16gb. is advertized.

Hot for the price

Jay L., Newegg
6 July 2012
  • Pros: $40 for a 64GB 2.0 Flash Drive!
  • Cons: Dead meat slow. Seriously slow. Do not, under any circumstances, format this drive in NTFS. You could literally wait for hours formatting or copying files.
