  • Summary: I haven't had any issues or problems, except over time the USB may bend with normal wear, tear and usage.

Kingston Flash Drive

Michael J. Bzdawka, Amazon
26 February 2010
  • Summary: I like Kingston flash drives. I have several. I don't like that the connector slides in with no cover. I'm worried about dust getting in. But as it's only 2GB, I just use this one for my digital picture frame so it's always plugged in. It's not something to record files on and stick in your pocket.

Good price, improved over previous version.

A Customer, Amazon

  • Summary: Cheap flash drives never state their writing speed, so I wasn't sure if this DT100 was going to be any better than the older DTI. I used a set of 116 different MP3s, ranging from 3.5MB to 4.5MB, with a total size of 447 MB. The DTI took 153 seconds to write the files (2.92MB/s). This DT100 only needed 96 seconds (4.65MB/s) for the same files. There are much faster drives available, but for the rock-bottom price, this one is good.

Inexpensive Flash Drive - simple and easy to use

Mudd, Amazon
26 February 2010
  • Summary: I bought this 2GB Kingston drive on 11/15/07 at my local electronic store for less than 20 bucks. This drive is simple, it has a retractable USB port to protect from dust; and no more looking around for lost caps that most flash drives tend to have. At 2GB, the actual usable space is about 1.9GB. Speed is pretty mediocre - I was able to move a 128MB file from my harddrive to the flash drive in about 32sec (4MB/sec transfer rate).

Loads of space

  • Summary: Overall a good product. Kingston is an established name and 16GB for the money I paid is fantastic. Haven't figured out the secure password function yet, but I use it to back up everything; documents, photos, graphics, audio files... For a litte more functionality look into SanDisk with U3 technology. Allows you to load programs on to it. Open Office is just one of hundreds of FREE options. If it needs to be tough look into the SanDisk Ultra Cruzer Titanium.

Simple

TheGreatCO, Amazon

  • Summary: This drive is the epitome of KISS (Keep it simple stupid). It comes with no U3 software, no software of any kind. It just works. Great for moving quickly between systems and OSs. No need to worry about compatibility.

Affordable storage, just don't sit on it

Bemace, Amazon
31 March 2009
  • Summary: I've been using this at work and it's been working great. I installed SystemRescueCD on it, so I can boot from it to diagnose computer problems. I also installed DSL linux on it, and there's still lots of room left for documents. The retractable connector is also good, since there's no cap to lose. The only problem with this drive is that it's fairly flimsy plastic. Don't put it in a pocket where you might sit on it or lean on it or do anything else.

Cheap and simple

Trevor Burnham, Amazon
8 March 2009
  • Summary: This is a good value for a reliable 4GB thumb drive. It's not as sleek as I'd like (I'm a Mac guy), but I wouldn't want to pay more just for some smooth beige casing. Well, not a lot more, anyway. The slide feature is the only thing that makes this gadget different. Others use caps to make them pocket-friendly, which are obviously less convenient. The slider takes a little getting used to; just make sure you don't press it while you're plugging the thing in.

Great product.

  • Summary: Bought 5 of these for holding music files to plug into my JVC Car Stereo. I put all my albums in it. Work great, very lightweight, no problems so far. I like the retractable usb connector. Highly recommend these.
