  • Excerpt: If you are in the market for a new flash drive, there are three metrics you tend to focus on. The first being performance, followed closely by capacity and of course warranty. For the longest time Kingston's HyperX brand has been the pinnacle of performance, and as their portfolio grows, the Fountain Valley based company does not just throw the HyperX brand on anything. In CDM our results flipped and found the HyperX touching 304MB/s read and 160MB/s write.

Kingston DataTraveler HyperX USB 3.0 64 GB

techPowerUp!
16 January 2013
  • Summary: The Kingston DataTraveler HyperX carries the enthusiast sub brand for a reason. It manages to rocket up, up and away in terms of read speeds, rivaling SATA-II SSD performance and making excellent use of the USB 3.0 interface. But the drive is no slouch when it comes to write speeds. While being beaten by drives based on SLC memory, the DataTraveler HyperX still roars along with up to 135 MB/s and an excellent average of 107 MB/s.
  • Pros: Incredible read performance, Awesome write performance, Great USB 2.0 performance, Sturdy shell, Hook to chain for key ring, Bright, blue activity LED, Lifetime warranty, Available with up to 256 GB, Excellent price in the EU
  • Cons: For some reason expensive in the US, Gets pretty warm when moving loads of data, Bulky size compared to other drives

Review of Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Testfreaks blog
15 December 2011
  • Conclusion: If you already take advantage of USB 3.0 technology than the HyperX 3.0 USB drive is the one to get. It is the fastest USB 3.0 drive that I’ve come across and its read/write speeds are terrific. In addition the blue and black HyperX style makes it a slick looking thumb drive. Obviously for this performance you will currently pay a premium as this drive is currently priced at $149 at Newegg.
  • Pros: Fast, Solid build, HyperX branding and style
  • Cons: Price

Test: Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 64GB (USB-3.0-Stick)

CHIP Online
15 November 2013

Test: Kingston DataTraveler HyperX Predator 512GB (USB-3.0-Stick)

CHIP Online
17 October 2013
