Worked good while it worked

Anonymous, Newegg
  • Summary: Worked good while it worked, mine just had some bad luck
  • Pros: 16GB, metal case feels sturdy, transfer speeds are acceptable.
  • Cons: 2 months into its life, I plugged it into a USB port on my computer, and it failed. Tried on several other computers. It's dead, Jim.

Easy to carry

Pashti, B&H Photo
23 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I have never had any issues with thumb drive performance so the only thing left are the practical matters of portability. I have this strapped to a retracting ID tag next to my desktop, and the ring on the back is perfect for that. It's small but not so small that handling it is too awkward for a man with big hands.

I'm glad to find a USB stick that is not flimsy ...

Leia "leia", Amazon
17 November 2014
  • Summary: Has held up well so far on my keychain (2-3 weeks), however copying on to it is VERY slow. I'm glad to find a USB stick that is not flimsy though. I even accidentally put it through the wash and the data was still there. It's still works fine.

Good Sturdy Flash Drive, Write Speed Average

rakuten
25 September 2014
  • Summary: Bought this because of the sturdy metal frame and sleek profile. Holds up well when attached to a keychain unlike the many plastic ones I have broken. Write speed is pretty average. Next one I get will be USB3.0 but for the price this was overall a good value.

Kingston 16GB DataTraveler SE9 USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Champagne

rixel777, Overstock
7 August 2014
  • Summary: I needed a device to store movies on for later viewing via my blu-ray players usb port. I have to say that I am very satisfied. The only issue I would have is the transfer rates.. it can be a bit glacial. Otherwise, great product for the price.

  • Summary: I initially ordered this one ship to store for $13, then a couple days later I got one of the "price reduced" emails for it for $11, so I ordered again at that price same drive. They came in the same day - I kept the $11 version, and returned the more expensive one right at the catalog center.

  • Summary: It seems to heat up a bit and when used as a boot device some older computers recognize it as a hard drive but adjusting boot options allows it to boot up. I haven't noticed any problems with its performance although I didn't have any benchmarking software to test it. I'm certain for storing data it is more than adequate.

Good capacity, tough little drive

Allen I., Newegg
26 June 2014
  • Summary: This is a great flash drive. I don't mind its relatively slow transfer speed. I formatted this drive exfat so I could use it with Mac and PC and store files larger than 4 GB (FAT32 no like >4 GB). The hole for your key ring/lanyard/etc is solid metal and plenty large for whatever you're hooking it on. It's a little slow at transferring large files (500 MB and up). If you need 16 GB on your key ring right now, get at least 32 GB instead.
  • Pros: -Tough flash drive -Holds up to 16 GB of data -Reliable (5 months, rides everywhere on a key ring in a pocket) -Solid metal hole for key ring, lanyard, etc. (no plastic/glue here)
  • Cons: -Poor relative price/GB ratio -32 GB models are already about the same price -Slow transfer rate (I know it's only USB 2.0... it's still a little slow)
