Summary: The USB no longer works and I cannot return it. The USB no longer shows up as a device and the device driver fails to install. I have lost all of the info I stored on it. I am very dissatisfied.
Excerpt: The Imation IronKey S250 Basic USB 2.0 Flash Drive, 4GB by Imation is a quality drive that protects your data securely with a password required entry. It gives you the option of resetting the drive to factory setting or self-destructs IF the wrong password is entered 10 times. This gives you the peace of mind that no one can access your important personal data if it is ever lost or stolen.

Summary: I feel that my data is safe with this AES 256-bit Encryption device. I like the fact that this device will automatically reformat after 7 failed login attempts. I haven't personally tried out this feature however I have no reason to doubt it will do as advertised. No downloading or installation needed which is a good feature and makes this device ultra simple to use.
Excerpt: I'm a student in grad school studying Mental Health Counseling. I needed an encrypted flash drive to securely carry digitally recorded client sessions from the university to my home in order to do transcription. This Imation Secure Drive does the job it is required to do. It has a design flaw, however. Due to the built in cap, it is impossible to put this drive on a lanyard, although it has a small hole to do so.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Reliable
Cons: Gotta Carry It On Its Own, Hard To Use, Inefficient, Poor Construction, Won't Fit On A Keychain, Won't Fit On A Lanyard
Summary: I've misplaced plenty of thumb drives and needed something a bit more secure to carry sensitive information around with and this was the answer. Couldn't be simpler, put your Drive in the computer, the 1st time you're prompted for a password; Enter a password and your are done.
Summary: This works great. No software to install. Just plug it in and the device driver installs the first time. The encryption software runs off of a public partition. The first time you run it you have to pick your password. Then your secured partition shows up and it works like s normal flash drive.
