Summary: Flash drives or USB sticks as I call them play an essential part in my work and the company I work for and on a daily basis I used many such devices for a variety of purposes. We handle a lot of sensitive data so the heads of IT are always hunting down the most secure items and the latest one I have been using is the Freecom Databar Secure 16gb version. At around £20 we are told these are the most expensive issued to staff and should be kept in good order for some time.
Summary: As always at work, the devices used in ICT are being changed all the time. The latest change has come with the flash drives we are being given to use. Each and every day the flash drive used is placed in and out of several computers, a lot of data is stored and transferred and they are quite an essential and time saving part of the job.
Excerpt: "...for security issues are the Freecom range of Databar secure units. We have been provided with these 8GB models which is the unit I will be reviewing. Straight out of the box you will realise with this product that it feels much more heavier than other flash drives you may have come across, and that is coming from someone with a lot of experiences with the devices. Usually I can barely feel that the flash drive is in my pocket but with this you ...
Summary: I bought this flash drive over a year ago and it has worked faultlessly ever since. It is very small and sleek looking, and because of its small profile, it will fit in any USB port and won't block access to others. It seems to operate quite quickly but I have tried to use it as part of Windows Vista "Ready Boost" (the flash drive is used as extra memory to speed up the system) but it failed the test so there will be faster flash drives out there.
Summary: A good solid memory stick with 1GB of space on it. This durable little stick has stood up to a lot of beatings...mainly being put in the washing machine by my other half! Surprisingly it came out fine and im still using it to store all my files. The stick has a little hole on the end so that it can be fixed to your keys or something similar.
Excerpt: "-----| Reason for buying |----- I bought this as an upgrade from my 1GB stick, as i required more space and a more reliable stick, my old one used to corrupt my files. The price was also very attractive for its size, £17.99 for a 4GB USB stick was exceptional when I bought it around 4 or 5 months ago. -----| What I have used it for |----- I used this throughout my studies at school, it was in constant use, exchagning data to and from it ...
Pros: Fast, Large amount of storage, small sized product, great alround
