Love corsair, Love USB 3

Caleb Fairburn, Amazon
4 March 2015
  • Summary: Awesome flash drive, exactly what I expected from Corsair. Been using this for 6 months now and the only problem (maybe it's just mine in particular) is that Windows doesn't recognize it in about half the USB3.0 ports I've ever put it in, and the inside half that has the connections has slid back...

  • Summary: One major flaw this stick has is that it doesn't seat very well in a USB port. It wiggles around in every port I've tried it in, and usually it doesn't make good enough contact to be recognized by the computer until you wiggle it around a bit or unplug it and reinsert.

Smaller is more elegant

Lawrence M., Newegg
7 January 2015
  • Summary: So should you buy this Corsair USB flash drive? 1) If you must have performance (Kingston 256GB Hyper X runs at ~160MB/s read/write) and don’t mind the massive size of the flash drive in both your pocket and in the computer socket: Then NO, There are plenty of other flash drives which are more...
  • Pros: I remember in 2001 when a 64MB flash drive was about $60 and very bully. In 2015 we now have 64GB flash drives which are quite fast but most are still just as bulky. When I received my newegg expert email to review this product I had half a mind to say no because I already have a Kingston 256GB H...
  • Cons: There is however a design flaw with the Corsair flash drive, aside from the slow write speeds which you can read about in other review (30-40MB/s write speeds, really Corsair? You couldn’t have made that faster?). I use my keys to open the drawers of my desk which are spaced 8 inches apart and wh...

Never worked on Apple

Brendan, Amazon
6 January 2015
  • Summary: DOES NOT work with a Mac. I tried on a few. It simply doesn't show up in disk manager or anything. I work in tech and likely would have been able to figure this out of it wasn't a flawed drive or inherent of its design. Flawless on Linux and Windows, but since no OSX, I sold it to a friend.

  • Summary: I've used this flash drive for several months now, and except for a problem where the outer metal housing would occasionally slip off of the drive, it has performed well. A few days ago the drive locked itself into read-only mode after it apparently detected a hardware error during a large file...

Not a bad value, but SLOW write speeds.

Dariushd "sirlee", Amazon
9 December 2014
  • Summary: Bench-marking this against a Patriot USB 2.0 small key usb drive, I find that the write speeds are kind of poor on the corsair. I tested with 2.73 Gb of data (148 files ranging from small to medium size). I got 4:04 with the USB2 Patriot vs. this drive at 3:30 for WRITE speeds.

  • Summary: Metal case came completely off of device after 3 weeks of use. Stuck it back on with super glue. Quality control isn't all there anymore.

  • Pros: Metallic case feels very secure and durable. Very light, and well designed. Large 32GB storage space is plenty for several applications. USB 3.0 capability. Good read performance on USB 3.0, excellent read performance on USB 2.0.
  • Cons: Rather slow write speeds.

Meh

Matthew Edwards, Amazon
15 November 2014
  • Summary: It's small, and looks nice enough, but Within a week's use, the metal sheath came off and I had to super glue it. And now, it has finally stopped working. Luckily I did not have anything valuable on it at the time. I cannot recommend.
