Died a quiet death when I needed it most

Kevin K., Newegg
6 October 2011
  • Summary: All that protective aluminum doesn't help if the electronics die.
  • Pros: Storage space was good - for a while
  • Cons: Went to "Write protect" in the middle of deleting files, now its a very expensive ROM device that's useless.

TOO BIG

Mark C., Newegg
13 February 2011
  • Summary: This should be only for extreme duty applications (outdoors, farming, etc.)
  • Pros: 64GB
  • Cons: WAY TOO BIG to be useful for most people I think

2 Fails

Dave S., Newegg
17 January 2011
  • Pros: Fast when they worked.
  • Cons: Two of these have failed for us with the flashing blue light of death. Since they contained confidential data and I can't erase them, I have no choice but to destroy them and toss the pieces in the trash. What a waste.

This drive has been great!

Ben S., Newegg
29 December 2010
  • Summary: I've lost it in the snow, found it next spring. Got ran over by a lawnmower. Rolls around in the floorboard of a work truck. But keeps on coming back for more.
  • Pros: This drive has been great! I can't kill it, even with fire!
  • Cons: Bulky. I wish the the outer casing was more durable. After several years of torture it is one ugly duckling.

unstable usb

karsten w., Newegg
15 December 2010
  • Summary: i purchased because it is marketed as being durable. durability is only useful if it is also stable. i use this in my jeep for music. it lasted a couple of weeks in mild fall weather before it locked up.
  • Pros: good storage capacity
  • Cons: flashing blue light of death

Impervious when closed, delicate when in use

Scott B., Newegg
26 November 2010
  • Summary: It does what I bought it for, which is survive sharing a pocket with my keys. If you need something heavy-duty that can survive being thrown off a building or run over with a truck, this is perfect. If you don't need that, there are far cheaper 64gig flash drives available.
  • Pros: I bought this after a third flash drive in a row was destroyed by being carried in my pocket with my keys. This drive 100% solved that problem, with the cap *attached* (the cap attaches using a method where the drive and the cap are twisted in opposite directions, and interlocking threads on each...
  • Cons: The time this drive is most at risk of snapping the connector off is when it's plugged in. This thing is looooong, it sticks way out form the USB port, and the length only multiplies the pull of the extra weight from the heavy-duty casing. Use the cable when you can.

Amazing but not as sturdy as I would have hoped

Anonymous, Newegg
23 November 2010
  • Summary: overall very nice flashdrive, love the 10 year warranty.
  • Pros: Great looking and durable flash drive, plenty of space. Nice case also very fast as advertised. comes with extension usb which is very handy.
  • Cons: Bigger than expected, rattles in case which is very annoying, should have put the keyring clip on opposite end, Why the dog tag????! <--cool but very pointless. A little more pricey that most flash drive. but you get what you pay for.
