Won't Eject Consistently on Mac

William P. Clark, Amazon
15 May 2015
  • Summary: I own several of these in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB, and they all worked OK On Mac OS X prior to Mavericks, but on Mavericks and Yosemite these refuse to Eject! On ALL of these that I own I always have to Force Eject and even then sometimes they won't, so I wind up just unplugging them.

Failed in less than 2 years

GREG H., Newegg
14 September 2012
  • Summary: the problem with these is the price is dropping so fast that it is hard to justify sending it back for a replacement with their 10 Year warranty. In 10 years this version won't even be avaialble anymore and definitely won't be worth the return shipping. I am sure corsair knows this.
  • Pros: I like the rubber cover.
  • Cons: Failed in less than 2 years, tracked shipping to send it back for RMA is more than the cost of a replacement. It can no longer be recognized by multiple computers.

not good for MP3

James S., Newegg
27 August 2012
  • Pros: reasonably priced.
  • Cons: I bought this to store my MP3 collection on and plug into my car stereo. It seems to have problems when transferring large chunks of data as most of my albums skip or cut out during playback. My Sandisk 16GB plays these on my Alpine deck just fine.

sloooooooow

stanley l., Newegg
22 August 2012
  • Summary: Don't waste your money.
  • Pros: It is durable.
  • Cons: I have 4 8 GB flash drives from 4 different manufacturers and this one has to be the slowest one known to man. As I am old and retired I don't use it anymore because I'm afraid I might die before I get anything loaded on it.

User Review

Michael S., Newegg
12 August 2012
  • Pros: Durable
  • Cons: Slow! Write speeds max out at 6MB/s which takes almost 30 minutes to fill the drive. The drive also blocks the 2nd USB port on my laptop.

Don't buy on a rebate

Eddy v., Newegg
16 July 2012
  • Pros: Product is excellent. Fast and durable.
  • Cons: Make copies of UPC and send certified mail. I pre-completed Corsair's rebate procedure online. When I received the product, I mailed off all required documents within two days. Then cam the wait, and the wait. Right before the rebate window closed, Corsairs Processing center claims not to have re...

Meh

Jeremy T., Newegg
31 May 2012
  • Pros: It does what it's supposed to do. It's also nice and grippy.
  • Cons: It's too fat and doesn't play well with other USB devices on the playground and just pushes them to the side. The rubber offers little protection when it comes to impact, so I lost about 5gb of files on my commute today. I bought it for its durability, hoping that the components would be strong e...

Not as great as advertised

J. Hill, Amazon
14 January 2012
  • Summary: The one good thing I have to say about this drive is that it's relatively fast at reading/writing. However, it's not even close to the advertised 16Gb of storage space. It's common for that number to be off a little on all storage drives, but this one only has 12.2Gb of space available.

Works

stanley l., Newegg
23 October 2011
  • Summary: Can I sue Crucial for using the word "Flash" in the name of this thing?
  • Pros: I can load stuff on it. It was cheap.
  • Cons: If this thing was any slower I'd throw it away. My 8gb P$#%^&* smokes this thing. Heck, I have an antique V#$%^#*& 512 MB that reads and writes faster than this thing.
