Made of plastic not aluminum

matt, Amazon
  • Summary: The main reason I purchased this flash drive was that it was advertised as having an aluminium housing. The one I received had a black plastic housing.

original and replacement died

Chris R., Newegg
2 February 2015
  • Summary: I've used 3 other brands of USB drives & none 'cept this ADATA has crapped out on me like this.
  • Pros: Fast
  • Cons: 1st one died w/ in a month. Replacement died 1.5 mos later. Problem same for both:USB became incommunicado during a large file write. After that, drive wasn't recognized by WIN7's file explorer, nor did it appear in Disk Manager. Oddly, it appeared in Device Mgr,, but uninstalling, reinstalling, refreshing, uninstalling/reinstalling USB drivers didn't work,Tried on other PC's;same result. Would note buy this drive again. I've been a NewEgg Customer for 8 years, but no...

It was crap for me

Shirley Codesido "Shirley", Amazon
25 May 2014
  • Summary: After having a very good experience with Adata's S102 Pro series (bought several of them) I decided to upgrade to this model. Like other reviewers have mentioned, I keeps asking for a re-format, it was bad out the box. It eventually stopped working all together and I lost the data on there, luckily i had a backup on my Passport. Also, sounding off other reviewers, it gets hot and feels like cheap plastic.

Defective out of the Box

Robert M., Newegg
4 April 2014
  • Summary: Going with other brands that I am knowledgeable of, and more reliable..
  • Pros: Nice looking and fast when if and when it worked!
  • Cons: 50% of the time, when inserted, I would get USB Device not recognized. Other 50% of the time, when recognized, it took almost 20-25 seconds to load the drive so I could see contents.

Nice while it lasted

John P., Newegg
15 February 2014
  • Pros: When it worked, it seemed to work fine.
  • Cons: Completely failed after one week of intermittent usage. I tried every disc utility I own trying to revive it but no luck. For the price I expected it to last longer.

Wrong! Not brushed aluminum, its black plastic.

doug mccoy, Amazon
15 December 2013
  • Summary: The product I received worked fine, the problem is the picture and description said it was a brushed aluminum surface, not true, the one I received was black and plastic. If the picture and description are wrong. please change it! People buy things based on this and to receive the wrong product, well just say I am very disappointed to say the least, no matter how well the product works.

Junk

Lyssa Scheunemann, Amazon
19 November 2013
  • Summary: It didn't work! I dropped nearly $40 on this and it's nothing more than a piece of fancy plastic, because that's about all I can use it for now.

Cheap plastic

Harry, Amazon
15 October 2013
  • Summary: Plastic keychain holder broke within a week. Slider broke a day or so later. Now I have the device super glued open, tie wraps as the keychain loops and all held together by electrical tape. Not any good if you plan on using it as an actual travel device. Metal sides just sandwich the cheap plastic in between. My hunt for a durable 64GB USB 3.0 stick continues.
