Great Tech, Cheap plastic

Philip N., Newegg
14 April 2015
  • Summary: All in all, very good for the price, and may be even extraordinary for the price, but I advise you to be careful with it if you buy it, as -- if you will -- it can dish out a lot of punishment, but can't take much.
  • Pros: Write and Read speeds are average to fast. In 7 months, I've almost never had to wait longer than 30 seconds for folders [near 7 GB folders, mind you] to load all contents. Copying files to the flash drive is entirely proportionate to what you'd expect it to be, that 7 GB folder [which I'll say w...
  • Cons: Only one complaint/warning. Cheap plastic makes up the exterior. It is not recommended to keep this USB on your keys and excessively play with the retractable plug. I can think of no other cause as to the plastic loop on the USB to have broken off and cause me to be unable to carry it with my key...

Paul Z., Newegg
9 April 2015
  • Summary: would buy more if i needed more space but i have a 2tb external for that if needed.
  • Pros: i never thought i would be so impressed with a usb drive -128gb is huge -writing up to 141MB/s... as low as 118MB/s... LOW?! -READING around 200-400MB/s -looks nice -LIFETIME WARRANTY ON PARTS AND LABOR?!
  • Cons: looks aluminum, is actually plastic. still looks great though which is actually a pro i guess.

Made of plastic not aluminum

matt, Amazon
6 April 2015
  • Summary: The main reason I purchased this flash drive was that it was advertised as having an aluminium housing. The one I received had a black plastic housing.

ADATA DashDrive Elite 32GB

Thomas M., Newegg
18 March 2015
  • Summary: I am extremely happy with this flash drive. It is ridiculously fast, reliable and beautiful. ADATA has earned a fine reputation with this hardware, and some of their other flash drives.
  • Pros: Incredible, high-quality flash drive. Extremely fast USB 3.0 speeds of over 80 MB/s write and 200 MB/s read. Beautiful exterior, sleek black, slim. Seems reliable, owned for over a year with no problems.
  • Cons: Possible issues with extension mechanism (push in and forward to extend), it seems like it could be broken if not careful.

original and replacement died

Chris R., Newegg
2 February 2015
  • Summary: I've used 3 other brands of USB drives & none 'cept this ADATA has crapped out on me like this.
  • Pros: Fast
  • Cons: 1st one died w/ in a month. Replacement died 1.5 mos later. Problem same for both:USB became incommunicado during a large file write. After that, drive wasn't recognized by WIN7's file explorer, nor did it appear in Disk Manager. Oddly, it appeared in Device Mgr,, but uninstalling, reinstalling, ...

Well done, Adata

Richard G., Newegg
10 January 2015
  • Summary: This has replaced all other thumb drives for me. I have mine in three partitions: - Bootable Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (4 GB, FAT32) - General, for transferring between OSes (4 GB, FAT32) - Work backups (56 GB, EXT4) The Ubuntu partition has all my must-have apps installed, so I can boot it on any computer...
  • Pros: Works as expected: mounts quickly, works within the expected performance range, light yet reasonably durable, lots of space. Extra bonus points that it doesn't look like a candy-colored piece of playground equipment; I don't feel embarrassed having it on a lanyard when I go into a meeting.
  • Cons: None really. Would be nice if it were faster, but we want more speed for everything. Given the nature of the USB3 controllers, the speeds are satisfyingly close to the expected performance range.

David Lagos, Amazon
9 January 2015
  • Summary: This drive is almost perfect. The design is beautiful, I love having a sliding mechanism rather than a cap, and the speeds are quite good over USB 3.0, especially for this price. It is hard to really review a Flash Drive while only having it for a short period of time, so if I have any problems with...
