AUE700-32G-CBK, works as advertised!

Eugene C., Newegg
5 March 2014
  • Summary: It seems to run hot (also not surprising, given the data transfer rate).
  • Pros: This sucker is FAST, true USB3 speeds.
  • Cons: As should be suspected, the total size is 31.6 gb. That means, after partition data, it actually only holds ~29.3 GB data. This is a smaller storage space than many "ripped" bluray movie disc sizes.

Nice while it lasted

John P., Newegg

  • Summary: I tried every disc utility I own trying to revive it but no luck.
  • Pros: When it worked, it seemed to work fine.
  • Cons: Completely failed after one week of intermittent usage.

  • Summary: ATTO tests and transfer of large (1 to 2 GB each) video files confirms write and read speeds supplied by Adata (135MB/220MB/sec). I tested the drive in my Dell Inspiron 17R SE which has 4 USB3.0 ports. Atto shows 120MB and 220MB read and write at 64kB and larger files. At 4kB it's already pretty quick at 30MB for both. Transferring about 20 GB of video files resulted in 133MB/sec and moving them back to another SSD gave speeds of 215MB/sec.
  • Pros: Actually meets specs (just about!!), Attractive aluminum case with retractable USB3.0 tip so nothing to lose., Competitive price for this speed and capacity.
  • Cons: None I can think of.

Like it so far

DAVID J., Newegg
21 January 2014
  • Pros: Device has a quality, premium feeling to it. The thickness is kept to a minimum with no compromise on build quality. The retractable connector is a plus. No caps to lose, nothing exposed to get damaged.
  • Cons: Pushing out the connector is harder than I expected. There seems to be a light resistance but it feels solid. One of the most sturdy-feeling retractable thumb drives I've seen.

  • Pros: Awesome drive. 32gb model was hitting between 180-200mb/sec read and around 80mb/sec write! This was all connected to a 3rd party PCIe USB card. Didn't expect that!
  • Cons: None noticed.

Fast and convenient

Matthew T., Newegg
19 November 2013
  • Pros: As fast as advertised. I calculated read speeds at 199 MB/s and write speeds at 97.37 MB/s. (Methodology: I just did an informal benchmark on my MacBook Pro Retina mid-2012, using its USB 3.0 port, copying a 1.6 GB file from the internal SSD to the HFS+ formatted ADATA flash drive, and timing it with a stopwatch.)
  • Cons: A very minor quibble (not enough to take an egg off,) but the plastic ring for attaching to your keyring isn't all that well designed, and it's not really possible to directly attach it to your keyring. The included lanyard also isn't design for that (it's more of a strap to hold on to it, I guess if you want to do that?), so you'll need to buy your own lanyard if you want to attach the drive to your keyring.

Fast, looks nice

Collin M., Newegg
6 November 2013
  • Pros: This drive is fast. I got 199MB/s sequential read and 46MB/s sequential write in CrystalDiskMark on both 50MB and 1000MB tests.
  • Cons: The port slides in and out via a small slider on the side and has quite a bit of resistance. Sometimes I need to pull or push on the end to help it slide in or out.

ADATA DashDrive Elite UE700 16GB

Yasir, reviews.informatique.nl
16 February 2014
  • Pros: n.v.t.
  • Cons: Foute afbeelding op website
