Says ReadyBoost, but it's not

Anonymous, Newegg
3 April 2007
  • Summary: Manufacturer did not test properly and/or put misleading sticker on the package.
  • Pros: 4GB drive
  • Cons: Said ReadyBoost on the product details page. The packaging had a small sticker saying ReadyBoost. Windows Vista said it didn't have enough speed rating for ReadyBoost. RETURNED.

LONG TERM REVIEW

Michael H., Newegg
16 March 2007
  • Summary: I wish they made a 8gb or 16gb and that it was dual channel 200x
  • Pros: the other reviews are crazy. I've owned this drive for over a year and have used is daily on hundreds of computers. it has never broke, lost data, or lost the cap. I've also owned almost every brand that newegg sells. this has been by far the best of the bunch. the cosair voyager is nice also, bu...

User Review

Stuart M., Newegg
16 March 2007
  • Summary: I will try to solder it back today. I realize that well built drives with plastic casing around the usb plug don't have this problem
  • Pros: Worked for about 9 months
  • Cons: This drive has a design flaw. The otherwise nice rubber casing does not physically support the connection between the USB appendage and the board inside. After months of use, the solder that connects the usb plug to the board broke. Leaving me with a usless piece of junk.

C. K., Newegg
11 March 2007
  • Summary: I'm purchasing a 4GB for myself and passing this one on to another employee.
  • Pros: Fast data rate and very durable. I toss mine around out of habit now. The wife put it thru the wash and it still works.
  • Cons: Benchmarkers like hdtune show really fast data xfer for the first 2/3 of the run but really slow for the remaining 1/3. Not a big deal if you don't transfer a whole lot to it.

BAD...very bad, do not buy

Todd P., Newegg
29 January 2007
  • Summary: bottom line, very poor construction, don't buy.
  • Pros: big on space
  • Cons: very poor design. The only thing that provides rigidity is where the actual usb plug is soldered to the circuit board. It's not a matter of if it will break, it is when...because it WILL break. The adata tells you it is a user problem (physical breakage). Aren't you suppse to carry these in your ...

cheap, ill-fitting cap

Anonymous, Newegg
9 January 2007
  • Pros: OK while it lasted
  • Cons: guaranteed you'll loose the cap. Why did they even bother putting a cap on this thing? I used an inner tube cross section to hold on the cap but after a month or so the whole drive bent while in my pocket. Cheap. Very cheap.

On the go reliability!

Bryan M., Newegg
4 January 2007
  • Summary: The unit is great and unless you plan to run portable Firefox I recommend it over all the others. None of the other portable apps have this issue so far.
  • Pros: Fast continuous I/O, low heat compared to my others. Data integrity seems very good. The unit is durable thanks to it's rubber outer coating. Activity led is a only on during activity unlike others that are continuous and flash during activity.
  • Cons: non-continuous I/O leaves a little to be desired, I run portable Firefox and it stalls a lot. This could be the way the app runs though and should only affect your decision if you plan to run it.

  • Pros: Lot of space.
  • Cons: This device broke when I put it with my key chain. Very fragile and don't recommend it if you want to carry it with you.
