Summary: Installation of the Buddy Hub is very easy. Plug in the power adapter, then connect your USB devices to the front of the hub and finally, connect the two USB cables from the back of the hub to each computer.
I will be testing the Buddy Hub using the two computers that I spoke of earlier: main work system and my test system.
Summary: The 7 Port USB Buddy Hub exceeded my expectations, and it works much better than other USB switching hubs I have used. There are no drivers to deal with, and the entire installation is quick and easy. In general, the switching function worked very well, and in the one case where I experienced difficulty I am not sure it wasn't the fault of the device connected.
Pros: » Easy installation and operation, » Great price, » Sleek and stylish design
Summary: Buddy Hub In Action: The Ultra USB Buddy Hub is not geared for everyone. Its target market is to users who have a couple of computers in very close proximity to each other. Many home and small office situations are spread out over a large room or several rooms and a USB Network Server has more appeal to these users - at a much greater cost.
Pros: Great connectivity - 7 devices for 2 machines in 1 package., Instant switching between computers.
Cons: USB 1.1 = slow, Cost - MSRP of $39.99 for USB1.1 version., Website shows both USB1.1 and USB2.0 version on same spec/pictures page.
