Summary: Tested all ports from standard USB laptop 2.0 port and USB 3.0 SS port. Used an AOC 16" USB Bus powered monitor to test. Every port fired it up in under 10 seconds (not that the hub makes a difference). Point being, they all work and work as expected.
Pros: Great price, good quality, Targus name & support.
Cons: Not really a con but; a full size USB B connector would be a little more sturdy. Looks like there is room for it.
Summary: Won't buy Targus again. I have a Belkin unit that has been working for years. I'll get that in the future.
Pros: Nice desktop powered USB hub with ample ports.
Cons: Failed after just one month of use. Also seems overpriced for the build quality (very light plastic, has no weight and gets moved around and lifted off the desk just from various USB cables being plugged into it).
Summary: I have not owned it long, but so far I am very pleased.
Pros: This hub is very small (3 3/8" wide, 2 1/8" deep, 1" tall). For those who are wondering it has a mini USB plug on the left side towards the back and the power jack is on the left side in about the middle. The power adapter is 3A (3000mA) and measures 3.25"x1.25"x2" and the plug is turned so that the bulk of the transformer sticks out to the side. Both the power and USB cable are 6ft.
Cons: I personally wish it was a lot heavier and had some non-slip feet so that you could plug things in without having to hold it. Overall it weighs about 1.5oz and it has no feet on the bottom of any kind.
Summary: My Samsung Intercept was giving my computer fits when I plugged it in via the USB connection. After some google searches, I found the errors I was seeing may be due to the device drawing too much power. I ordered this powered hub, and now I can use it to connect my phone and it works like a dream.
Pros: Works perfectly, and solves a problem I was having with plugging my phone in.
Cons: Some people might want a power LED, but I actually prefer not to have yet another light on something.
