Summary: I have two computers that need to print from the same printer. It works good. I have to push the switch on top to switch sides (or computers). I wish there was no need to push the switch, but rather that the peripheral unit would automatically pass the signal to printer from both comps.
Summary: Inexpensive, uncluttered, perfect if needed. But had I been thinking I would have just put an inexpensive ethernet switch between the two systems, connected the printer to one, and shared it. Then you wouldn't need to change the USB switch to print from one or the other.
Summary: I needed to connect both my computers to one printer. The printer was only two years old but, according to the printer tech support, was not networkable so could not connect thru my LAN. [...].Installation was quick and easy. It works quite well. However, documentation is thin, omitting description of switches. It has a habit of switching sources on its own.
Summary: I was trying to connect my HP Photosmart C7250 to 2 computers; 1 through USB and the other through the network via Ethernet. This had worked previously with an older HP Photosmart, but not this time as the one connected via the network did not work. I was therefore forced to purchase this USB Peripheral Switch. I only use the switch manually, not with the software, so I can not rate that portion of the product. Manually it performs perfectly and swiftly.
