Cons: Beware... The new version (black) is actually two 4 port hubs daisy-chained. 3 ports are from the first level hub and 4 ports from the second level hub. This can cause problems in some cases. The original (silver/gray) was a true 7 port hub.

Pros: Powered. Even with 7 ports, power was never an issue. Tons of ports for all your devices.
Cons: Frequent disconnections when multiple usb devices are active. I would then have to unplug the USB hub and replug it back in. I had to move my USB mouse and keyboard off it because losing them became too frequent.
Summary: Haven't had much luck with D-link in the past, bums me out that this hub has been giving me problems.
Pros: 7 ports, not too large
Cons: Works half of the time with my macbook pro. I bought this so I could power multiple devices but apparently it puts too much stress on my laptop. The hub shuts the USB port off, and unfortunately the hub won't charge devices unless you plug it into a computer.
Pros: External Powered Standard USB Cable 7 Ports Good build quality
Cons: Intermittent connection failures - I stopped using it with my Logitech mouse because after a reboot sometimes my iMac wouldn't detect the mouse. So I connected other things. USB sound card, printers, scanner, etc. Most things it worked with fine, but devices that require a constant connection wer...
Cons: Replaced a 4 port hub, (different manufacturer), that did charge iphones. This D-link will not. quote from D-Link support. "We would like to inform you that you cannot charge the iphone touch using DUB-H7."
Cons: Frequently, connected items do not automatically mount when the computer starts. Hard drives, scanners and other accessories have to be power-cycled or unplugged/replugged before they are "seen" by the computer
Summary: When attached to an old windows 7 HP laptop, it caused the system to boot much more slowly than normal.. even hang sometimes. Older chipsets were known to barf when even a USB flash drive was installed, but I have never seen this behaviour in a usb hub before.
Excerpt: The DUB-H7 allows you to plug in 7 USB 2.0 devices at once, great for a laptop or PC with limited built-in ports. The unit comes with its own narrow style power supply, which doesn’t interfere with other plugs in adjacent sockets, and USB 6ft A-B lead to connect the hub to the computer.
