Summary: I used to buy d-link product all the time and their quality was excellent Over the last year I have purchased 2 D-link products .(1 modem from Best Buy and this Hub) None of the products lasted over 6 months.
Pros: Small, looks good, relatively inexpensive
Cons: After only 2 months I could not get the fast charge ports to work After 3 months Only 2 usb ports work and those can not be found by my computer sometimes.
Summary: It's a nice, cheap little hub but only useful for uni-directional use (i.e. charging your iPad or iPhone).
Pros: It's small for the number of ports and two of the ports are fast-charge ports.
Cons: It's only USB 2.0. Also, the uplink to the PC doesn't handle both upstream and downstream traffic. If you transfer data from a thumbdrive connected to the hub to a thumbdrive connected to the PC, then the data transfers as expected. If you transfer data between thumbdrives connected to the hub, t...
Summary: This feels like it may be a manufacturing flaw in this device, but it could be a design flaw.
Pros: Convenient, compact, lots of ports, usable for charging MP3 player
Cons: Loses connections intermittently when used with a MacMini. Have repeatedly had to unplug and replug USB keyboard to get it to recognize. Happens erratically when the Mac goes to sleep or is turned on. Usually removing the USB cable from the hub does the trick, but one recent time I had to restart...
Summary: Given that USB 2.0 has been around for 10 years, you'd think that a more-or-less respectable company like DLink could make a USB 2.0 hub that, you know, actually worked.
Pros: This review is for the 7-port, USB 2.0 hub with fast charging ports. Seems to be reliable once you actually get it to connect the attached devices to the host. Will charge iPod/iPad devices on the charging ports when not connected to a host.
Cons: The charging ports seem to work well when the hub isn't connected to your computer, but iPhones and iPads won't charge on them when the hub is connected to a computer (tried with Dell Laptop and Mac Mini, with power cord plugged in), rendering one of the main selling points of this hub useless. W...
Cons: Can only charge two apple devices through the high speed charge ports. The other 5 ports provide 0.5A of power per the product manual, but my iPhone and iPad will not recognize the other 5 ports for charging purposes.
Summary: Unfortunately, I bought one of these for my personal hub at home and we bought 10-15 of them at my workplace. Unfortunately, they all exhibit the same problem. This isn't meant to smear the product, just a heads up. It does seem to work sufficiently most of the time.
Pros: 7 ports and external powered.
Cons: Random erratic performance and connection reliability issues that we cannot pin down. Currently, I only plug my keyboard and mouse and a license dongle because I do not trust the reliability to handle anything more critical. Even the keyboard typing stutters periodically and some key functions wi...
Summary: Worked great for a little more than a year, wish it continued to perform as admirably.
Pros: Worked great for a little more than a year, good price and comes with external power adapter.
Cons: After more than a year of use whenever you plug it into the computer not all the devices that are plugged in are recognized. For example I currently have a keyboard, external hard drive, tv tuner, ipod connector hooked up. However whenever I plug it into the computer only the tv tuner is recogniz...
