Summary: Since is required on my network and I now have the switch working I will try to get Buffalo to replace the power supply as I need the one I borrowed from another unit put back in place but am not holding by breath on that, haven't gotten a response yet.
Pros: Good performance for a short while.
Cons: Power supply dropped from the labeled 5.3Volts to a measured 3Volts, switch failed. Tried a similar power supply from another unit and switch works.
Summary: I chose this over the ASUS GX-D1081 and don't regret it. The switches are equivalent in MAC table size, buffer size, speed, etc. but Buffalo wins by providing extra features and overall better quality. The warranty card that comes with it says it's covered for 2 years.
Pros: It's tiny and lightweight. The 5.3V 1A power adapter is small and lightweight too. It's got magnets on the bottom that allow it to be mounted to any metal surface. Pros: This switch has gone above what one might expect from a switch in this price range. I have been loyal to another name brand for years, but I have purchased several Buffalo routers and switches as of late and have no plan on switching any time soon. This switch is giving us up to 10% better speeds...
Cons: This thing is useless! A 67MB transfer took over 15 minutes on a gigabit network? Web pages load slowly if they finish loading at all! Emails take forever to load! If I could give this zero eggs I would! I will be returning this ASAP!
