Excerpt: I purchased this hub about 6 months ago. Since it was basically a "plug in and use" installation, I found it to be just what I needed. HOWEVER: after using it for 6 months, it no longer works. I went to the Staples location where it was purchased and they wouldn't do anything to help me.
Summary: I'm very disappointed in this purchase. I bought this USB hub for my external hard drives, but it's not working for them, even when I have the hub plugged up. The computer doesn't even show the drives in the list :(
doesn't power external HDs despite being "powered"

Summary: Despite the fact that this hub has a power supply, it doesn't power any of my external HDs. As this is the sole reason I purchased this hub, it's entirely useless. I can't imagine why it requires auxiliary power and yet can't power a HD. What on earth does it use that power for?
Excerpt: I bought this at a staples store. I had the receiver for my wireless keyboard and a bluetooth dongle hooked up to it. After 30 days, it stopped working. It still supplies power to any device I connect to it, but my computer does not see any device connected to the hub.
Excerpt: Item brought home from Staples. DEAD right out of the box. Housing is all cheap plastic. Not well made and surely not an item I would be counting on for a business or personal trip to charge any USB items.
First one defective...hope the replacement is better

Summary: I wanted this usb hub because I felt it matched my imac/seagate setup and was small enough. I plugged the printer and two seagate portable drives into it. Before these three items were using up all my usb ports on the imac so I was happy to have the room.
Excerpt: Died 10 days after I bought it. How does a Hub stop working - I don't get it. After a little over a week, I started the system up and mouse and key board did not work. First noticed no keyboard light. It did pass through the internet connection and printer connection, but not the key board or mouse.
Excerpt: As soon as I plugged the hub in to my surge protector it began to overheat and emit a strong burning smell. When I touched the hub, it was burning to the touch. I unplugged and returned to the store (it still smelled as if it had fried)
