Excerpt: I purchased this hub about 6 months ago. Since it was basically a "plug in and use" installation, I found it to be just what I needed. HOWEVER: after using it for 6 months, it no longer works. I went to the Staples location where it was purchased and they wouldn't do anything to help me. I was told that I had to contact Belkin for any warranty repair or replacement. I contacted them and they told me that without a receipt, they will not honor their warranty.
doesn't power external HDs despite being "powered"

Summary: Despite the fact that this hub has a power supply, it doesn't power any of my external HDs. As this is the sole reason I purchased this hub, it's entirely useless. I can't imagine why it requires auxiliary power and yet can't power a HD. What on earth does it use that power for? There are no indicator lights, so that's not it. It is no better than a powerless hub, and not worth the extra money and having an extra wire around at all. Most disappointed.
Excerpt: I bought this at a staples store. I had the receiver for my wireless keyboard and a bluetooth dongle hooked up to it. After 30 days, it stopped working. It still supplies power to any device I connect to it, but my computer does not see any device connected to the hub. I tried returning it back to Staples but they wouldn't accept it back because of their 14 day return policy. Next time, i'll buy from someone else who has a better return policy.
Excerpt: Item brought home from Staples. DEAD right out of the box. Housing is all cheap plastic. Not well made and surely not an item I would be counting on for a business or personal trip to charge any USB items.
First one defective...hope the replacement is better

Summary: I wanted this usb hub because I felt it matched my imac/seagate setup and was small enough. I plugged the printer and two seagate portable drives into it. Before these three items were using up all my usb ports on the imac so I was happy to have the room. It caused one of the seagates to beep, which when plugged directly into the imac didn't happen.
Excerpt: Died 10 days after I bought it. How does a Hub stop working - I don't get it. After a little over a week, I started the system up and mouse and key board did not work. First noticed no keyboard light. It did pass through the internet connection and printer connection, but not the key board or mouse. Weird.
