Great little hub

Brandon T., Newegg
9 November 2011
  • Summary: I bought this so long ago, that i don't even see it listed on my account. Might be an old account. None the less, its been kicking fine. This device DOES work without the AC adapter so long as you're not using things like HD's or charging things from it. Thats not the devices fault. Worth the money.
  • Pros: Its been reliable through the years 1 port to 4 ports uses a standard mini usb plug optional AC adapter(not needed for low power devices) Slim, perfect for travel
  • Cons: It doesn't somehow generate power without wires lol

Garbage

Ronald G., Newegg
14 July 2011
  • Pros: It worked for a month.
  • Cons: It died after the month. The power adapter stays really hot. I think that is why it died. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!

would buy another!

Chris F., Newegg
26 June 2010
  • Summary: works as expected
  • Pros: Got this for my PS3 and it gets the job done.
  • Cons: Ports are a tad too close together - you can't fit some thumb drives or dongles right next to each other.

Angela W., Newegg
24 June 2010
  • Pros: Compact - 4 additional USB ports
  • Cons: Needs external power supply; I have this working fine under Windows 7 but Windows XP it is touch and go, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Not enough power

Patrick P., Newegg
18 November 2009
  • Pros: Small and compact.
  • Cons: Does NOT provide 5V or enough current from each port to charge a PDA/Smartphone. Will charge much smaller items like a bluetooth headset or iPod nano.

Works like it should

Jason L., Newegg
4 June 2009
  • Pros: I have my laptop cooler, Headset, Keyboard and sometimes my mouse plugged in and they all work perfect. I've seen some hubs short out or bog cause too much power is circuiting threw it.. This one has yet to show any signs of doing that. It's Tiny and sleek! You'd have no idea it was there and can...
  • Cons: It's almost too small... lol I recommend getting 2 sided tape or some kind of velcrow (if that's how you spell it) and making this little guy stationary. With numerous cables running through it, it kind of just floats all over the place lol

Not for important devices

Nathaniel L., Newegg
23 March 2009
  • Summary: Appears to work fine with other connected devices. Cannot function without the power supply, which is not ideal for a mobile user. If you have external storage needs like myself you might want to look for a more robust hub solution or even PCI-based USB cards for reliability.
  • Pros: I own the 7-port version that is exactly the same except additional ports. Very Small. Inconspicuous. Driverless. Truly Plug and Play. Powers all connected devices.
  • Cons: I recently started experiencing strange audio issues arising from inordinate amounts of DPCs (deferred procedure calls) and hardware interrupts, which in layman's terms means the computer is having trouble communicating with a device and/or completing an operation on said device. To test my devic...

User Review

Patrick E., Newegg
19 November 2008
  • Pros: Great little hub. Works as intended. Really small. No problems with any of my devices (including my power-hungry external disk).
  • Cons: The ports are really close together. While most cords will fit fine, my Bluetooth dongle and mouse receiver are too big to fit next to other cables.

look elsewhere

Cody D., Newegg
9 March 2008
  • Summary: Should definitely include Velcro in the packaging as the other reviewer stated.
  • Pros: 3 extra USB ports. lightweight. looks nice.
  • Cons: Requires additional power source. Although stated as USB 2.0 it has trouble handling a mouse and keyboard. When using firefox and attempting to open another tab using Ctrl+T it opens like 10 additional tabs. Also my Logitech optical mouse will cut in and out at times during internet browsing and ...
