Does not need a power adapter

James S., Newegg
11 February 2013
  • Summary: No idea what the 1st reviewer is talking about. there is absolutely no need whatsoever to use a power adapter when using the extension cable. This misinformation on the product prompted me to write a review on this product.
  • Pros: $ ports, extension cable included allowed me to place right where I wanted it on my desk.
  • Cons: none so far. USB ports feel shallow maybe, plugs don't go all the way in, but this does not effect performance so who cares.

Bradley W., Newegg
7 May 2010
  • Summary: BUY AN EXTRA, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT.
  • Pros: SMALL, SLEEK, LIGHT WEIGHT, WELL MADE, EASY TO USE, HAS WORKED PERFICLY FOR OVER 3 YEARS WITH ALL MY MANY DEVICES AT HOME AND ON THE ROAD. YOU CAN POWER A TOTAL OF 500 mA FROM A SINGLE PORT. IF YOU NEED MORE POWER THAN THAT FOR YOUR DEVICES, BUY A SMALL REGULATED 5V 2.1A POWER SUPPLY AND PLUG IT ...
  • Cons: NONE AT ALL.

  • Pros: The hub is roughly the size of a credit card, with a thickness of about 1/4".
  • Cons: The cord is NOT retractable. It's no more than two inches long, making it difficult to use if your USB ports are positioned alongside other ports (as is the case with my Macbook.) The extension cable included with the hub extends the length of the cable by several feet, but will NOT WORK without ...
