Summary: I finally ditched my trusty Nikonos and decided to try a UW housing for my 7.1MP Canon PowerShot. I expected to have a limited-function case but found that every feature and control switch worked flawlessly. The flash diffuser is brilliant. The results (including video of 30' whale sharks and a 15' manta ray doing an underwayer flip and hover - so he could eye-ball us) are stunning. The best [$] I've spent in a long time! I HIGHLY receommend this product.
Summary: used it in the Caribbean this summer and it worked great. All pictures came out crystal clear and i have no complaints with this. So much better than a disposable underwater camera or those cheap bags that are sold for $20 on [...
Pros: Comfortable Strap, Good Protection, Lightweight
Summary: Used for snorkeling in Hawaii. Seemed neutrally buoyant. Fully functional controls is awesome. Loaded/unloaded at least 3 times and resealed with included silicone grease each time without problems. High quality front glass. Used a Pentax Optio W?? in the other hand and think this WP-DC9 + SD800IS is is 10x better. Because my SD800IS is better/faster, I know the buttons well, and the housing doesn't limit it's qualities.
Pros: Easily Loaded Equipment, Seals Easily, Strong Construction
Summary: I bought the Canon SD800 and the WP-DC9 Housing from B&H Photo. I have used on 3 Dive trips and taken it to 100 foot plus dives with no leaks. The housing is very easy to use and maintain. No need for a desiccant as it does not steam up. It gives good quality pictures as long as you remember the golden rule GET CLOSE to subject to remove the water which will absorb light.
Summary: Like the first reviewer, I've used this housing extensivelyduring a week vacation in St. John last year. We're gettingready to go back to St. John in a few months and Ilook forward to using the SD800 and the WP-DC9 again for oursnorkeling and beach excursions. My only complaint isthat it can be a little tricky to line up the dial on thehousing so that it catches on the camera dial when closed. Sometimes it doesn't catch and requires you to open thehousing and try again.
Summary: Used this repeatedly snorkeling and diving on St. John, USVI.Worked beautifully, no fogging, easy control and handling.Only drawback is that there is no obvious way to adddesicant to ensure that it will not fog.
Excerpt: It is made to take on trips with you for every type of event! I have used it for bike riding, kayaking, skiing when I went overseas, in the rain, hiking, as well as deep sea diving. I am an extreme sports person and this Casing for my camera has ensure the safety of my SD800 so I am very impressed with it. For the price, I reckon its definitely worth it.
Pros: There are controls duplicated for every single button on the Canon SD800. Can take this camera down to 130 ft deep. Takes amazing pictures.
Cons: It is made solely for Canon SD800's and very expensive
