A great option for recreational diving

HLPer, B&H Photo
5 June 2008
  • Summary: I took this case on 6 dives to a maximum depth of 50ft. All I can say is it works. The wrist strap is nice. I never used the neck strap, but it looks nice. I used three weights (Canon WW-DC1) which made the case ever-so-slightly, positively buoyant. This is using Energizer's Lithium, disposable batteries (~30% lighter that alkaline batteries). My wife and I took hundreds of pictures using this setup, and I really don't have any complaints.
  • Pros: Easily Loaded Equipment, Lightweight, Seals Easily, Strong Construction

What an awesome product!

  • Summary: I bought this for a cruise to the Bahamas and it worked great. Easy to use and no water ever leaked into it. The only thing that I didn't like was that it got a little foggy and I hadn't put any defogger in it. I would recommend using defogger but otherwise this is a great product!

A Great Way to Get Underwater

J.G.Nash, B&H Photo
3 June 2008
  • Summary: It is nothing short of amazing that this product allows you to take the camera underwater, while operating all of the dozens of controls and combinations thereof. Viewing--even through a dive mask is relatively easy, because you use the LCD screen, visible through the waterproof case. The little flash diffuser works perfectly, castin no unwanted shadows on the subject. A great value!

Good but bulky

gwc, B&H Photo
10 April 2008
  • Summary: The case is great but a bit larger than I thought it would be. It makes it a bit larger to carry around but it does provide good under water protection and just general protection for the camera in bad conditions. The zoom also continues to work as it has enough room to still fully zoom. I had a little problem with it fogging up in rapid temp changes...
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Functional, Water-tight Seals
  • Cons: Bulky

Bulky but effective

Jefferson Scher, B&H Photo
9 August 2007
  • Summary: I previously used a Canon underwater case with the S45, andCanon's time-tested design continues to provide amazingphotographic control with the A630/A640. It is a hasslelubricating the seal before use, and cleaning offcrystallized salt, sand, and any hairs that get on it, butthe results are worth the effort: disposables simply cannotcompare, and professional enclosures are much moreexpensive.

Very Good Underwater Case

JBM, Beach Audio
14 June 2007
  • Summary: Purchased this case to take on my diving vacation. Performed extremely well. Most photos came out clear. I look forward to using this again soon on my upcoming dives. Also used it in the pool taking photos of my young nieces. Wish it came with a weight which is sold seperately and I do not currently own. Flash diffuser is not all that spectular, but works to some degree.

Check compatibility !

eXpansys

  • Excerpt: This is NOT compatible with the Canon A720 IS camera although it was implied on this website. I ordered one and had to return it. Correct case for A720 IS is WP-DC16.
