Works like a Charm
15 June 2007
Summary: Was skeptical at first about buying this card because of some reviews, but once installed and configured properly it works great. Be sure you use the latest drivers and software from leadteks website in order to get the best quality from this card.
Pros: Works the same as my old Leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp. Picture quality is great through Media Center on Vista and the WinfastPVR program from leadtek's website. Easy setup.
Summary: I have been thinking about getting one of these cards for a while. 3000Deluxe is probably one of the most expensive. I thought about 2000 but figured whadda hell, for $15 more I can get component video imput and hook up my PS2. Sadly, the picture quality came in pretty bad.
Pros: TV functions' great. Pitcure quality is quiet good. Played with time shifting a bit and seems to work well.
Cons: Foggy pictures with PS2 even with component video in put. (CRT Monitor not LCD. Don't got LCD so don't know if conditions will improve on LCD) Can't get close caption to work. No tech support from either Leadtek or Newegg.
Summary: make sure you have a line in on your sound card or you don't get sound. The sound is good though Only gave it a 4 due to the crashing of media center and the wait for the driver
Pros: It works well with vista 64 as long as you use the provided software picture is nice and clear no complaints
Cons: it took forever for Leadtek to get the Vista 64 driver they said it was due to Microsoft being slow I don't know but their teck support kept me well informed not sure if it will be compatible with with the media center of vista as I got the blue screen of death twice but oh well it works well wit...
Summary: I only gave this 4 stars because the retail package is really useless. Buy an OEM PVR3000, if you don't need a remote control.
Pros: The picture is sharp on my 24" LCD monitor. Recording with the hardware MPEG 2 encoder works very well. I use a third party program to edit the capture. No synch problems at all. Recording, I use no more than 10% of my CPU at peak.
Cons: Using the uncompressed AVI has some bugs. The packaged drivers and Winfast PVR software were problematic. Using the downloaded driver and Utility from the Leadtek website resolved the issues.
Summary: I expected much more from Leadtek having owned or installed 20 or 30 of their tv tuner cards in personal machines and customers as well. There is nothing good I have to say about this PVR3000.
Pros: video stretch feature, but that's part of the software.
Cons: compared to a pvr2000 this thing looks washed out and fuzzy. There's little or no contrast to peoples faces making them look flat and pasty. The software won't remember your settings between uses you have to rescan channels each time you open the program.
Summary: Starts up good but after a short time I get vertical stipes in the screen - This happens on both a Windows XP and Windows Vista machines. Have sent an email for Leadtek for support and will see where that gets me
Pros: None as of Yet - Had high hopes to use the Composite Video Connections to connect to my HD equipment
Cons: Poor support from the Leadtek web site for this product and when I tired to call there US number all it did was ring.
