Good card - Works on Windows as well as Linux.

Anonymous, Newegg
15 April 2008
  • Summary: == A bit pricey
  • Pros: == On-board MPEG2 encoding == On-board MPEG2 decoder with Video out. == Works on Windows and Linux. (Officially supported only on Windows. Community support on Linux) == Remote control works on Windows and Linux and is easy to setup. == Both the card and remote work great with SageTV (on Windows).
  • Cons: == WinTV software that comes with the card is a joke. You cannot setup a PC as Media Center PC with that software.

Perfect Card

Joey A., Newegg
9 December 2007
  • Summary: I don't understand why the 350 is the only card with A/V outs. Its the best feature ever, if you use a program that utilizes it.
  • Pros: This card has everything I've ever wanted in a tuner card. Great picture, sound, and compatibility. The best part is the AV out that most cards don't have. When used with a television and a program like SageTV, it is a complete TiVO system. Guides and Timeshift all on the television, computer doe...
  • Cons: The only con I can think of is that there is only one tuner on the card and they don't make a dual tuner card with A/V outs like the 350, but still gets a 5 because it does everything it says it does up to par.

Hauppage WinTV PVR 350

Steve H., Newegg
27 May 2006
  • Summary: This is my third tv pci card and by far the best.
  • Pros: The card and software were extremely easy to install. Excellent clarity in picture quallity. Much better than my Kworld Video Magician card. The tv picture from the PVR 350 is exactly the same as my new 36" Panasonic flatscreen. Easy to capture video from tv to a VOB file and then burn to DVD. If...
  • Cons: Radio reception is limited due to the location of my pc.

Best TV/Video Capture Card

Eugene D., Newegg
2 May 2006
  • Summary: I tried Beyond TV for viewing, and It is a great program, I would also recommend that for watching and capturing TV. Not Video Capturing though, as it doesn't have that feature.
  • Pros: This is by far the best capture card on the market, and I would say with all that this card has made possible with it's video capture capabilities, that it is the best piece of hardware I have ever delighted in purchasing! Strongly Recommend!
  • Cons: The included software is mediocre at best, but that is really no big deal, as I do my viewing on other programs, but still capture with WIN TV 2000, as it works fine for that. Otherwise no Cons, At ALL!!!

This is the one

Anonymous, Newegg
29 March 2006
  • Summary: The only way this could have been better is if I could have gotten a free Newegg T-shirt!!!
  • Pros: Plug it in, install the drivers, hook up the cable and brag to your friends!!!! The computer that this is running on is 1Ghz PIII, the video is clear and the video and audio match up great…
  • Cons: Like most I was skeptical on the price so I bought a “barging” card from another store, the difference is night and day. So save yourself the time and money and pick up this card you will be glad you did…

It has Almost Everything except for One thing

Jordan B., Newegg
20 March 2006
  • Summary: Overall its a great card I hope that Hauppauge will create some sort of recording software on its website that will allow recordings off the included radio player.
  • Pros: It does exactly what it says it can do and it does it quite well. I've recorded movies sporting events you name it and with full control over the quality of the recording, you can customize it for a dvd or your computer.
  • Cons: The added Radio FM tuner included on the board was a nice extra but i was a little bummed out by the fact that your not able to record the audio stream and your not able to listen to AM channels.

THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY

WILLIAM C., Newegg
7 March 2006
  • Summary: READ THE MANUAL. IT TELLS YOU EXACTLY HOW TO INSTALL THE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE. IT'S VERY SIMPLE TO DO.
  • Pros: I JUST INSTALLED IT, LOADED THE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE, CONNECTED THE CABLE AND I WAS WATCHING AND PAUSING LIVE TV ON MY COMPUTER. NO HASSLE WHAT SO EVER. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT. THE FM RADIO FEATURE ALSO WORKS GREAT AND THE REMOTE WORKS GREAT.
  • Cons: THE MANUAL DOESN'T REALLY SUPPLY MUCH INFO OTHER THAN INSTALLATION INFO.

User Review

Robert B., Newegg
26 February 2006
  • Summary: Excellent tuner. I have it hooked up to cable and picking up the analog channels (no cable box) and it is getting better picture than my $3000 TV in the living room! The FM reception is a little poor, but that parts not all that important to me. Also the software install is a little off..
  • Pros: Great picture quality
  • Cons: Poor FM reception, software install doesn't work automatically like the manual says.
